Why does the baby need its own room?
That varies from LA to LA. Generally, the less demand there is, the more generous the interpretation of overcrowding. From a legislative point of view, the minimum standards are covered by Section X of the 1985 housing act. But very few, if any, local authorities are that strict.
As for baby having it's own room... It won't be a baby for long.0 -

Having seen the bandings for the LA concerned, I would suggest that you would qualify for Silver at the very least, and possibly even Gold. Lets are being made to both bands quite quickly, so you need to get your name down ASAP. Unfortunately, due to a backlog, they are only taking apps from high housing need applicants at the moment, but that may well include you so I would contact them at your earliest convenience.0

In that case, you should all be ashamed of yourselves - benefits are given to cover living expenses, not for pocket money while you sponge off your parents!0 -
Christ on a bike.
5 adults and only 1 working PART TIME?! Everyone else sponging off the state and wanting even more?
Roll on the Budget. This needs fixing.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I live in the same area as the OP....and yes, some of the places are in rougher areas.... but equally some of them are actually really nice! ...Same as everywhere really.
Don't scare her!
Not all council places are 'rough'!0 -

How the OP and her family spend their money is of no concern. Should the OP and her sister choose to live independantly, the harsh realities of the real world will visit upon them soon enough.0 -

Actually, if you read the OP, she is on Incapacity and DLA. This is not 'sponging off the state'
I honestly hope you never know the misery of being disabled.0
