  • I too have been taken for a ride by Worldwide Marketing Solutions. I was cold called in April. I was told I was speaking to Google. I signed up for a one month's trial but they continued to take an additional 2 month's money from me. No mention was made of me having to cancel it. I assumed a one month trial meant...a one month trial. I have emailed, written & phoned repeatedly to get the 2 months refunded to no avail. Has anybody got anywhere with these rogues?

Worldwide Marketing Solutions Ltd. (worldwidems.co.uk) scammed us too.

They did exactly the same thing as they did to all of you. Companies house should take away their ltd status and investigate. Anyway funny how I managed to seo their company name in to page 1 place 4 by asking the yahoo question "Is Worldwide Marketing Solutions Ltd. a scam company. Maybe I should invoice them for my good work.

I really hope something will be done about this company and that everyone gets their money back! By the way they have CCJ's and maybe you could address complaint letters to the managing director. I did a company check on them and we better be fast as it looks like they are trying to get as much money as possible before shutting doors.

Hope this helps and lets stop these get rich quick rip off merchants. Do not trust Worldwide Marketing Solutions Ltd.
  • On Planet Stupid I will be regarded as a God... I can't believe this as I'm not normally conned but I fell for this not once but twice!! The first time was the Facebook story, i.e everyone in my area who put 'engaged' down as their status would have my photographic ad appear on their page for one month. Sounded good so I did it. Ker-ching £127. Today a very plausible guy from Google (yeah...I'm already ashamed!) sold me the promise of top photographic listing for my area on the search engine. The convincing thing was the way he was reading off 'statistics' from Google telling me that 'Photographer' had 2000 less hits in my area than 'Photography'. Boll**ks of course as I realise now but remarkably believable at the time.
It was only when I looked back tonight to the Facebook conversation that I realised I hadn't received the promised invoice or indeed the (also) promised contact with my 'account representative'. I will get hold of my credit card company in the morning but wonder if I'll have any joy and if there is a 'cooling off' period with this type of transaction. One certain thing is that I will have to change the debit card I used for the first transaction before they con me out of another month.
  • well, everyone as i said, the calls are coming in at twice a day from worldwide mrketing solutions,,, because i got my card blocked, theyve issued me with a new card and number , and theyve sent me forms to fill in so they can recover my money (hopefully)please dont get conned by these people just tell them your not intrested at all. i expect the calls will continue on monday, because they cant get money from my card awwwwww shame!
  • Hi
Same old story I'm afraid. However I received a call last week from Alan, new Customer Services Manager. Said he was working through the complaints and wondered what the Trading Standards had advised me to. I said I was initiating a charge back through my bank and Alan said there would be no problem refunding the money (£232). The bank had not completed their process and suggested contacting Alan again to ask for a refund direct. Is this just another angle or have wwms turned over a new leaf (they have improved their own website and their T&C's are more visible and supposedly easier to use). Anyone else had a similar call?
  • I was cold-called by these people in March. They introduced themselves to me as Google. I was guaranteed first page Google adverts; further, I paid extra to appear in Yahoo and Ask Jeeves. I thought I was dealing with Google, so you can imagine my surprise when I received my first e-mail from WMS - I didn't know who they were!

I had agreed to a 1 month trial, but being suspicious of fraud, I tried to terminate the agreement. Despite phone calls, e-mails and letters, it took me three months to stop their transactions by which time I had parted with over £1700. I took action through my bank to stop their debits and have the last month's payment refunded as being unauthorized. The debits have stopped but the bank failed to retrieve the final payment. Further, WMS threatened ME with legal action if the payment was refunded!

This vile company is getting away with nothing less than fraud. Their claim to actually BE Google is gross misrepresentation. So I am now going to take these people on. Watch this space . . .
  • Naively I was also scammed for £120, they put the wrong link on the Ad and the appearance was very intermitent! I phoned up to say I wanted to cancel (as told i could do) but was then told I had to put it in writing, I sent a letter and I also emailed a copy, after several days I phoned to confirm receipt of my letter which they denied. Days later the letter was returned 'not know at this address' and they subsequently took out another payment.
I then went to my bank HSBC who were fantastic, they refunded the money back into my account but I did have to cancel my card and have a replacement sent out to ensure that they didnt take out another payment
DO NOT TOUCH THESE GUYS WITH A BARGEPOLE, it is a hard sale con
Their number is now saved on my phone so I can ignore their future calls!
  • These guys rang me today. I'm new in business (tiling), and nearly fell for this. I said ring back Thursday but (stupidly) gave them my debit card details (they say to set the account up and reserve the slot for me), and confirmed with them they will not take payment till they ring on Thursday. I'll be ringing them Monday after reading all this. I just googled the number they called me off.

They give all the same rubbish, said from Google, etc. Better ring my bank too.

I actually live in Oldham and know of the Meridian Centre (10 min away), anyone know if they are actually there?

How can they be getting away with this for so long?

Get this too, got a similar call today from other organisation - they opened the call "Hi, this is __ from Greater Manchester Police Initiative,we have a brochure coming out and you have been selected blah, blah, blah..." Can't believe the nerve of some people!!

Opened account on here just to vent my fury!!

    Thanks All

    Ant (AG Tiling)
  • I too have been conned by this company but with me they said they were Facebook they took me for £130 and nothing to see for it.
Be aware as your credit card company will not help as mine didn't? I have also contacted consumer direct and GOD is that a long process.
All in all it is looking like I am out of pocket and believe me this is not the first company to do this to me, I have treid all the government complaints centres and no one wants to help. Please will the government do something about this????

Please do not deal with this company as you will get nothing for your money.
