My girl-friend has just fallen foul of these people. She got the bank to get the money back, but then WMS suddenly produced a pile of paperwork (agreements, dated invoices etc) that she had never seen before that apparently 'justified' the transactions! So the bank has told her they will be re-taking the money!
Obviously no individual can succeed against these people, we have to gang up.
I have these questions:
(1) Has anyone succeeded in getting their money back? If so - how?!
(2) Has anyone been taken to court by them, or taken them to court? What was the result?
(3) Loads of people have mentioned reporting them to the Police, Watchdog etc - has any action ever been taken by any of these organisations?
(4) Who is interested in sharing stories with a view to publicity and/or reclaiming money?
Reply either on Thread, or by message if you prefer.

Unless it is classed as fraud the police wont be able to do anything, unfortunately.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

What is it? Start of half term holidays (look at the date of the previous post) and bored already or just back from padlocking yourself to the gates at Dale Farm?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I run a not-for-profit arts company and have been ripped off aprox £800 by this company, exactly the same story as everyone on this forum.
Initially the bank refunded as many payments as they could but WWM sent them some rubbish letter that they have taken as some kind of proof. We are going in today and I am going to take all your posts with me printed out so I wanted to say thanks to everyone for posting.
I have requested the phone conversation by phone and written letter but no luck...
Will let you know how we get on!
Any updates from anyone?0 -
An further update:
WMS showed my bank a lot of bogus doucuments purporting to be proof of my liability, so Halifax has re-debited my card. I have written to Halifax reiterating that the money was paid on the strength of the phone conversation, and the documentation produced by Worldwide Marketing Solutions AFTERWARDS bore no resembalnce to the oral discussion. On that basis, I am demanding a Section 75 refund from Halifax themselves.
In the meantime, WMS have informed us by email that the chargeback has caused them to invoice us for another £150 in charges. They say they have a recording of the initial conversation - my reply was that I hope that since they have stated in writing that the recording is available, they will be able to produce it in evidence when we go to court, because I KNOW what took place in that conversation (I was in the room when they were speaking to my wife!).
I have suggested to WMS that we skip straight to litigation, as I have NO intention of paying them any money, and every intention of making sure the chargeback stays (or I get a S75 refund). I suspect that if they take it as far as the courts with the kind of evidence we have against their claim, a judge will view them very unsympathetically.0 -

If WMS have been taking money without authorisation it is plain fraud. Be firm with your bank - in the absence of a signature, and without the use of a PIN, it's WMS's word against yours, and the burden of proof lies with them.
Make sure you tell your bank that bogus invoices are NOT adequate proof of indebtedness or of authorisation. Show them copies of your email correspondence with WMS, and that you have in fact specifically forbidden them to take payments from your card (if that's the case). Point them to this website and the 9 pages(!) of almost identical complaints against this one company.
The bank is liable to recover any money taken from your account without authorisation (at least, this is my understanding). Tell them that you have no intention of paying any unauthorised amounts debited to your card.
What we want here is for the Banks to feel the hurt too - make them think twice before granting card merchant facilities to shyster companies.0 -
Just had a phonecall from these guys, They didn't claim to be google but that they are working with Google. I seem to be getting more scam calls at the moment than calls from customers!0
