Weather forecast looked OK-ish so I did do the car boot this morning. Got there for 6am - still dark. It's in Cheddar, there's a very big one there. According to the traders, it was quiet today but I sold quite a bit and made £75 profit - that's after paying for the pitch, two bacon butties, sweets and coke for DD2 and a lovely little pair of new boots from another stall for DD2 for being so sweet and helping me. Pleased with that and got rid of lots of stuff at the same time, so it's all good. :T
It was very cold though earlier, and started to drizzle a bit later so we came home earlier than I normally would - I normally stick these things out to the bitter end. But there's no point if you're stuff is getting rained on.
Still only 53% towards my November target and I've no idea how I'm going to make the shortfall, but still not bad going.
Well done on the car boot sale, that is a great result! We've been to Cheddar a couple of times, but we usually go to Exeter on a Sunday - it's a pretty good one.
I'm way behind on my target too, but we've still got a week or so to go!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've added another 15 items to turbolister, so pleased with that. I'm contemplating doing some more, but also curling up with a good book is shouting at me too. Decisions, decisions...
DH has gone out on his bike so I have a couple of hours to myself, lovely!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi Jwil
I am up to date on your diary now. Wow! you sell lots on e-bay - what are the needlecraft items you are putting on there if you don't mind me asking? I sell whatever i can de-clutter really but have sold most of my excess things, eventually took to charity what I couldn't sell. So now I have only a few bits and pieces to get rid of - keep hoping someone will give me some of the things they throw outUnbelievable the things that people just put in the bin when it cost a substantial amount - even second hand. I suppose it is up to them but I really don't like waste.
Thank-you so much for posting the 1001 list - can't afford to buy anything just now but I have it ready when I can.
I think our amounts to re-pay are very similar by the way.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hi dedicatedDFW, thanks for reading!
My MIL collected anything needlework so loads of different things - mainly kits at the moment, but I have everything from fabrics, cottons and who knows what else, once we go through the boxes!
I don't like waste either, it really frustrates me what people throw away. It's something I see a lot of in my work.
Hopefully we can encourage each other to become debt free! Mine seems to be going down REALLY slowly at the moment, I need to get going properly next year."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done on your listings Tattycath! Well done on the scratchcard win too, that's great! My lotto tickets came up with nothing again this week, boo!
Hope you have a nice few days off!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I started a NPB this afternoon on ebay from someone who has not paid nor contacted me since it ended on Monday. Funnily enough, almost straight away I had a message from the person asking me to cancel it as someone had broken into their account and placed a bid on my item.:mad:
Frankly, I couldn't care less. Not my problem that they cannot keep their account secure, and to be perfectly honest I'm not sure I believe them as all they seem to buy is needlework kits. So the dispute will stay. They have over 1700 feedback, and do sell themselves (with terrible DSRs) so they should know how ebay works by now.
Blimey I'm getting hardened in my old age :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've been sorting out some paperwork this afternoon. Sorted through 5 drawers, recycled a load and shredded a load. Filed a little bit away and put the last few bits back in the drawer. I've gone from 5 drawers crammed full, to 1/2 a drawer. So pretty impressed with that!
DH is home and is starting to tackle a box of magazines that he had packed away, so that is good news too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I weighed myself this morning, I'm the heaviest I've ever been  I really need to do something about this, but am not in the right frame of mind at the moment, it just seems like another thing to worry about and more pressure on me.
I quite simply do not have the money to be spending a fortune, so I'm going to look at small changes I can make which may not give me big results but will do no harm in making me healthier. 1/2 lb per week is still 2 stone in a year after all.
The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that my role will go when my department starts cutting staff. It's between me and my colleague, and as she is a first aider and represents us on a couple of groups, I think it will be me.
If that's the case, I don't want to be going to interviews etc like this, so that should also be a focus.
So, next year now, I need to lose some weight and really get rid of my debt as much as possible. It's critical that I do this."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
If you attack your change in eating habits with the same vim and vigour you're attacking your debts, you'll soon have it sorted hun. Good luck anyway.
Sorry you think your job's on the line-keep selling!!!
I have bids on some of mine and some items finish today!!! Got to do some more listing in next couple of days-only 8 fays til end of this months' challenge and I'm not even half way yet!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043
