Hi all
Oh jwil i'm so angry on your behalf  - really hope you do get the funds for the items you sold but i also understand why you don't think that will happenBut well done on the other sales and survey vouchers too
I have popped my name on the new challenge jwilGone for a staggeringly large figure :eek::eek: Which [STRIKE]if [/STRIKE] once achieved
will see me debt free by next birthday (except for mortgage) and overpaying on the mortgage for the remaining 3 months of the year :j:j:j
Peaceandfreedom - you have started something  Ever since reading about your brekkie the other day i have been planning when i can get up, have a cuppa and make myself a nice brekkie to start the day off :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Taken a jacket i've had for years to the cleaners today to see if they can salvage it - hope so - i don't want to be paying for something i'm going to have to throw away  but we'll wait and see  Overspent on the shopping today too :eek::eek: Ever do that where you go to more than 1 shop - 1 of them being a bargain type place so you spend there and then still spend the same at the supermarket? Oh well - i guess i did treat myself to one of those packs thats full of the ingredients for making xmas cake :snow_grin - from my usual supermarket (as it was reduced) and i had promised myself i'd get one if they were reduced :T Fun baking times lie ahead
Oh... oh... i nearly forgot... drumroll pleaseits the last day of the month, and i had set myself the challenge of decluttering and deep cleaning each room - this month was my stuff in the bedroom (as its not really for me to do OH's things) and what with being on holiday this month and all the usual of working 2 jobs etc. i never really thought about the room being done and just kept plodding away at it  Well todays the 30th of the month and this evening if i declutter my jewellery (sadly none gold) then the room will have been thoroughly cleaned and decluttered :j:j:j Sadly, as mentioned before - i am at the stage where this is the final declutter of the whole house for a looooong time - i've declutted so often that what i'm keeping now is either useful or i love it and thats it! So very few items are being found that i can sell or give to charity but it has been a very worthwhile effort
This leaves 2 rooms to do in December - and i should really start 1 of those tomorrow
Not too much in these rooms mind as they are the spare room and bathroom. - Dear me! I really need to get out more :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yay, thanks for joining in the challenge DDFW, that will be fantastic to see you debt free by next Birthday!
Well done on the declutter, that's great. Do you want to come and do my house now
Hope you manage to get your coat salvaged, and yes, I do that thing about spending more money by going to more than one supermarket a lot"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -

Hee hee, well it's a good way to start the day off, don't you think? It's easy for me, though, I work from home, so once the kids are out the door, I get my own breakfast going. That morning it was potato cakes, mushrooms, bacon and egg.Don't always have such a slap-up breakfast but I ALWAYS have a pot of fresh coffee (and maybe a cheeky square of dark chocolate).

Is this the Mary Berry one - I SO want one of those - I was holding off in the true MSE hope that it would be reduced and it IS.
And I am seriously impressed by your decluttering efforts - now maybe this time I'm next year I'll be in your league in the decluttering stakes.
On the plus side, sold something else on amazon, about £5+ profit, nice one.
Off up north for work tomorrow but I'll be back in the evening and I get to open my Sealed Pot - can't wait. I really hope there's around £300 in there but I think that might be hopelessly ambitious.0 -
Well it's payday today, hurrah! It's been a long month.
The good news is my finances are not looking as bad as they have previous months, and particularly last month which was a shocker due to various things.
The bad news is, I'm still short, and I have MOT on Monday  (service will have to wait until early next year) and my insurance is due too. I NEED to get the starter motor replaced too which I am hoping to do subject to a decent MOT.
I've got my renewal quote, and funnily enough the quotes I've had from using a comparison site are around £50 cheaper (including from the same darned insurer ) so I shan't be sticking with them.
Hooray for payday (I don't really have one of those, money comes in at odd times).
Boo about the renewal quote. You've reminded me I need to look into changing my car insurance, I fancy a bit of tasty Quidco cashback.
Good luck for the MOT, hope it passes with flying colours.0 -
*sigh* Paypal have refunded the buyer. It's not unexpected, though I got a brief moment of hope this morning when they asked for proof of posting. Oh well bye bye £100. Hopefully RM will pay out."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

I'd be glum too especially as it sounds as though it's a con. I wonder how some people sleep at night.Hopefully RM will come through for you.

Hi Jwil
I am so sorry to hear that. What is wrong with paypal. Was talking to the postmistress yesterday at my local PO and she said that Royal Mail log all claims against each address. So if these people have done this before there will be a pattern forming. How soon will you get the money back."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Thanks Guys, it's from a buyer in China, so who knows how long it will take. I wish that ebay/paypal would keep a record of INR claims and do something about it. I don't know, maybe they do.
The thing I would really like though is to be able to block people with private feedback - it wouldn't have worked here, as they put their feedback to private after they purchased, but it still makes me very suspicious. I don't even know why it's allowed on there - isn't feedback supposedly what makes ebay tick? I wouldn't buy from someone with private feedback, so why should I sell to someone with private feedback?
The other thing though, is I wonder if the darned items are just delayed in customs. I bet if they do eventually turn up the buyer won't be rushing to repay.
It's such a pain though, it wouldn't matter if it was only £10 or so."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Anyway, it's just been one of those days today. It started off with that, then I realised that DH's mortgage money hasn't arrived in my account yet, which means I haven't got enough to pay my loan next week (I transfer the whole amount, and he transfers half to me). I was there when he sent it though, and he's just checked his account and it went out, so hopefully that will arrive tomorrow and it's just later than normal.
Because I've been a grumpy so and so all day, I've not achieved anything I set out to do and still haven't completed my assignment which is due tomorrow. I have however, shredded a load of paperwork that I dug out when looking for the proof of posting, so I can now get into the drawer again :T
Oh yes, another thing - the watch my lovely hubby bought for me the other week - it's broken  The sodding clasp has broken. My last watch was cheap rubbish and it lasted me 6 years. This watch is supposedly quality and it's lasted less than a month. We don't even live locally to where we purchased it, so that's even more annoying. However, we are heading up that way at the weekend, so I'm guessing we may have to detour to return it. I haven't even told him yet! It's not even something I've done, it wasn't broken when I put it on yesterday, but was when I took it off."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0
