We've been very lucky and managed to get the cistern replaced this morning. I wasn't expecting it to be done so quickly, but it's fixed now. £166 lighter though, eek!

I've also managed to list the first batch of items for ebay, and a book on amazon. It's a start!

Have now dug out some more stuff for ebay and will list those tomorrow.

The new cistern is lovely! It makes such a difference, and is nice that it even flushes properly now too. Once again I am amazed at what a difference it makes just having something that works properly when you've been putting up with something that's on the way out for a long time.

Knowing the plumber was coming out meant that I also gave the bathroom a good clean this morning, so that's another job completed that was on the list for this week. We'd only got him out for a quote, then when he gave us it, and we asked how quickly he could do it, he said he could fit it in right now as it would only take a couple of hours. We were so pleased as I was expecting to have to try and get a day off work to have it done.

Ain't that the truth - it's like a little treat every time you use it. :)

I recently had a few cosmetic changes done to the en-suite and every time I go in there, it makes me happy. :)

Small things, but they do make a big difference! :)

Oh Joy. I've just been to get the new tyre fitted and have been informed that my brake dics and pads are dangerously worn. *sigh*. Another £150-odd probably. I'd guessed I might have to do something to the brakes when it went for mot, but they need to be done now. I'd better have a darned cheap MOT at this rate!

I've listed another 4 items for DH and 17 items for me on ebay so fingers crossed for some good sales.

In naughty spends news - I may have just bought the new Stephen King book . I can afford it like a hole in the head, but I don't care. It's the one author I go out of my way to get as soon as they come out. I shall just have to not eat for the rest of the month :o

Right. Off to find some more ebay items now.

Yes, it was the brakes discs and pads that cost me a fortune recently too. Bad luck, Jwil, these things are sent to try us. :(

Enjoy the Stephen King book though. :)

    They certainly are.

I've just claimed £7.19 in cashback though, so that's almost covered my book purchase :D

You are having a spendy few days Jwil. Always something to keep us on our toes. My iron died yesterday. Was supposed to get express delivery from amazonia but didn't materialise. So they have after some persuasion(half way around the world for a short cut) refunded my postage and am getting it tomorrow. Can't iron anything and hoping that all will survive one more day without it.

Enjoy the book when it arrives. You are like me Jwil you love your books. Read it and list it my dear. :)
    God bless

I'm sorry ebayqueen, I didn't understand a word of your post - what's an iron? :D:D:D:D I've had the same one since I was 18, and I think it's been out of the box less than 1/2 dozen times :o:p. Good news about amazon refunding your postage though, even though it's very annoying that it wasn't delivered in time. Hope it does arrive tomorrow.

I won't be selling my Stephen Kings - I've got a nice collection of first editions, and they will be staying. I've already got it as well, I like to buy those off the shelf so I can be certain it's not damaged.

Speaking of damage - I've just collected a christmas present, and it's completely crushed. It's the second thing I've had recently that's been damaged when it's arrived, and I'm really annoyed about it. I've managed to salvage the box, so it doesn't look quite so bad. It's so frustrating though. The last thing I returned for a replacement, but this item was a bit rarer and I think I got the last one. I shall be putting in a stiff complaint though!

  • Hiya all, we must all be having a bad time with things electrical, mechanical or plumbing. My dishwasher packed up at the weekend, nothing worse than getting up to a dishwasher full of dirty dishes :( Yesterday my car stalled twice when slowing down, it's an automatic so nothing to do with me, I'm now £360 down but I had started a car fund and had £100 in it so that helped a bit.:T

    Happy ebaying
