I'm not exactly sure if that's bad or can be ignored so will have to wait for someone with more experience.

You could run malwarebytes in the mean time as there's no harm in doing so (written by alienRIK):

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

off-topic: Avira is clearly a German company :D

on-topic: Reboot in safe mode, log in as Administrator and scan again.

The warnings just mean that files could not be scanned. Those files are locked by the OS . Avira just warns you about it. There is nothing you can do about it. It's a normal warning, and nothing is wrong.

I wouldn't let it stand as is. The file which is locked could also be a virus, which is running at the moment. So booting in safe mode and doing the scan again should solve the problem. Of course, you will never be able to scan the pagefile.sys once you booted Windows.

I have a feeling you're German - but you could be bluffing!

Back on-topic: I think there is no harm in rebooting in safe mode and running scan again. If it works, great! If not... We shall have to think of something else to do! Or leave it as it is *shrug*

The warnings in the scanner log usually refer to files, which were being accessed by other programs and thus could not be checked for malware by AntiVir.
In general, this has nothing to do with virus suspicions. In order to reduce the number of warnings, close all applications before starting the scan.

    Ok then - I guess that's sorted.

Another off-topic: when avira finds 'patterns of recognition' is that worth worrying about? Should it be sent? I've seen it in the past but never knew the answer.
