sounds like you may want a budget pc if your going to buy a new one anything around the 2gb ram mark and dual core processor should be more than sufficient for you and should cost around the £300 mark or if alternativly as others have pointed out you could just upgrade the ram on your existing machine which is basically open the cover unclip the ram (very easy) then put new one in0

Malwarebytes' doesn't find minor things.
Make sure you reboot before continuing. 0 -

Can you post the Malwarebytes' log here? After you re-boot. Run another Quick Scan this time.0

No, not any. Use the link posted earlier to find out which one you need.

here it is, but not much on it. Would I be better to run Hijackthis or not necessary?

Ok, I ordered the memory that Donnie suggested but I've now run the Crucial memory scan and this shows something different to order. Cost is slightly more but I'm not too worried about this. I just want to make sure I get the right one. I've ordered this:

but the Crucial scan says to order this:

£21.73 inc. VAT* ea.

This is the link to the results page from my scan, showing 4 different possible memory thingys. Hope someone understands this because I'm lost! http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/viewscanbyid.aspx?id=CF20833331D926C3
I'm totally confused now, sorry to be a pain.0 -
Yes post the log - fixing the startup apps would have been faster than waiting for the ram to come, and it still needs doing.!!

Hi Brokebrunette,
before you buy a new computer in case you don't need to, download a free 30 day trial of system mechanic, a product I have used for about 5 years now and which is totally safe and let it analise and repair any problems automatically. Unclick the anti virus box when it prompts you if you already have other anti virus software installed so they don't conlict.

thanks, I clicked the link you gave me last night and ran it, and it got rid of some of my start-up programs that I don't use. Is that what you mean or do I still need to do something else?0
