Elf, I understand but right here, right now what pressure do you have? Apart from your debt and you exciting trip to Finland and your rocky relationship (unless I have missed something) you have no-one to prove yourself/be perfect to. You just need to be yourself. Your past hasn't been the best it could be but you can change that now, you can decide to let that hinder your life in the future or you can ue it as a spring board to get where you are going.

Please take each day as it comes, be yourself, be the best you can be in that moment. If you get stressed take Butti's advice and let off steam here. I think we all would rather you rant and rave here than cause yourself harm (in many ways) offline.

*I am saying this all out of kindness, I am not trying to upset you in any way, I just wish you were closer ;)*

pap, I know you are, I'm just getting upset cos it is what I need to hear really, that I can let the pressure off and it won't all fall to bits. The rocky relationship is no more, we split completely a couple of weeks ago, so it's just me now.
My debt is debt, it's being paid off so I can't complain at that really, even if it is going very slowly, it's still dropping.

The Finland trip, that's the thing keeping me going more than anything at the moment. Me and nalle (Finnboy - mate of mine who is almost definitely more the way we behave) are takig it slowly, as both of us have been hurt by others in the past, we've been together before but I reckon it has more than half a chance of lasting, we're both older, wiser, and know what we're letting ourselves in for (and he's coming over for Christmas and we'll be spending at home with my mum and dad - talk about a baptism of fire!)

The past hinders me as a lot of it is very unresolved, I've never managed to completely let it go, even when I try, it comes back. I do get the feeling that going back to the GP and asking again for a referral to the psych services will help, as I want to get better and be able to work - at the moment it's just my blog and helping with claire's website that are the main things I've done to go on my CV that aren't directly related to a job - if you know anyone who wants help let me know lol.

I think at the moment I need to be less harsh on myself, I need to allow myself to just potter about and read, or do cross stitch or knit or watch crappy films (am seeing a mate Saturday so hopefully we'll spend time doing just that

Talking about debit cards and credit cards and the best ones to use abroad. Happily I have the brilliant one (Nationwide) and a medium one (Barclays) Think I'll stick to the Barclays for emergencies :)

pap, thank you....can you be my mum

    That's shocking!

I can see how some people could feel pressured into spending that.
