I have downloaded an appropriate form, filled it in and will send it to Egg first thing tomorrow morning, sit back and see if the price of a stamp brings me some pennies back. If not, nothing lost

Thanks for the heads up on this company, I have to say that readingg some of the experiences on here helped me this afternoon in making sure that I read everything.
all the best

:TI have to say that I didn't hold much hope in getting anywhere with this, especially as the guy who called at the house was so convincing that people with legal knowledge needed to be on the case, but I figure'd I had nothing to lose. This week a cheque arrived from Egg for one of my 2 claims, with a really nice letter explaining that the other claim was still being investigated but I would hear within the next 3 weeks. If I don't get anything back from that claim, the £1550 I got back already is well worth the couple of hours it took to fill in the form.:T
And to think if I had gone with "consumer money matters" I would have been handing a cheque over to them of £450 aswell as the £120 upfront fee they wanted.
So happy bunny here and to anyone who doesn't know if they can do this, just download the form on this site, fill it in, (if I can do it anyone can) and see what happens. The worst thing that can happen is they can say no. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Having been in sales for many years you see these same old replies over many sites. All you see is the general public ranting and raving about how bad co's are & oh the 'sales person' was so 'pushy'.
For those that don't understand how the coggs of business work, all they see is the negative side of it !
I have not had this company round but if i do, guess what i will way it up all before hand with regard to my time, can i be bothered? am i a legal expert? ect ect
Oh by the way the £120, its refunded if unsuccessful. Took a phone call to the co.........
Would you expect not to pay a garage if after they investigated a problem on your car & it turned out there was no problem ?
Of course every situation is different so try to look at it logically instead of emotionally.
If your going to reply to this try it logically.
Good luck0 -
I'm in agreement with you ifn1, I wish someone had called me when you could claim your charges back from the banks and offered to do everything for me for a percentage I would have snapped there hands off.
I ended up waiting too long and missing the boat, if we all spent more time dealing with these things instead of moaning then we wouldn't need these type of companies.
Unfortunately we are generally to lazy to get off the sofa and do it, so fair play to claims companies for helping out with these claims.
Why aren't we moaning about the banks who robbed us????0 -
I had a man come to my house on Friday night after being sick of all the phone calls I had form consumer money matters regarding reclaiming some ppi that I had on a loan, The man turn up at 7.30, he start going into some big sells pitch telling me if I died my kids would be taken into care ??????? I asked why ? because I don't have a will? It turn out that was just the tip of the iceberg, after asking to see what he was filling in, it was all about things such as life insurance, wills debt management, and then he started asking about my pensions? time 9.30. At this point I told him all I wanted to do was my ppi claims.
He went though the paper work and told me where I needed to sign which I did, and after I signed he told me that I had to pay £270?????
I took all the paper wok of him and asked him to leave time 10.15 on a Friday night.
I would say to anyone thinking of using this company DON'T I have never left so uneasy in my own home.!!0 -
Thank you for your post jk12. I was dissappointed to read that you decided not to pursue the claim through ourselves and wish you every luck in attempting to claim without our help. As a large company looking into several thousand claims a month our management team are always interested in customer feedback and are always looking to improve our service. For this reason we have looked into what happened on Friday and as we rarely have this type of situation we've been able to identify you on our system from the information you have posted. We have listened to the original call to check that the agent has followed correct procedures. Towards the beginning of the call the administration fee and commission were covered correctly. At the end of the call, however, you did ask for clarification regarding the costs and you were told that we work on a no win no fee basis. Although this is accurate as any administration fee is refunded if the claim happens to be unsuccessful, we believe this is why you were surprised when the fee was mentioned at the visit.
We will be speaking and feeding back to the individual involved to prevent this from happening again. We do make every effort to ensure that the fees are clear and send clients our brochure which covers the fees in full on page 5.
Should you wish to call us regarding this please contact us on the number you have been given. Again I wish you every success with your claim.
Regards,
Phil

You get cancellation rights from them. I suggest you exercise those immediately.
Also, if they are looking at some of the products you mention, then this would mean they have to be FSA registered as well as MoJ (FSA for financial advice and MoJ for complaining). You should make a formal complaint if you feel you were pressurised beyond what would be considered appropriate.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I see all of the fees etc above and the harsh sales method and frankly I am worried.
I am in debt management (with CAP UK excellent company well recommended) due to a miss sold mortgage which spiralled my debts out of control, been contacted by tones of companies about claiming back ppi but when cmm contacted me and I told them about my miss sold mortgage they said they could claim money back for me.
I have had a bad feeling in my bones since taking out the service as I was taken advantage of when remortgaging last time.
I don't understand why any company would need money up front, if it is a no win no fee, surely you win the case you pay the admin fee, you lose the case you don't.
In listening to the message, while you wait for one of their team to answer the phone, it says you can wait 8-9 months to get your money back if you don't win, now that is why they take it up front.
I signed up over a month ago now and although I have talked to them on the phone I'm worried about my money.
Can I cancel a month in without losing my money for 9 months?
Please Help?0 -

They use a company BlackBerry with Key IVR. It's one of the most secure ways to take payment. As it doesn't store the card information, they don't take any of your payment information away with them. You should have got an authorisation code from your bank and receipt?
Personally I don't think you're foolish for wanting to get a better Pension deal or investigate a Will. They're important things in life.
As they're a legitimate company you haven't anything to worry about whatever you decide to do.0
