DMP Mutual Support Thread - Part 7

Ian, I am so fickle you wouldn't believe ;-)
Good news Devon_guy. Be warned, Barclaycard were useless at making contact with us. Eventually we rang them on the various accounts and asked what the hell was going on - they accepted the DMP across the board but just didn't really bother letting us know. Four accounts with them, three frozen % and one, for some reason, a nominal amount of % and a letter saying 'it's absolutely not our policy to reduce % to zero' .... we didn't point out the other accounts in case they changed their minds!!!0 -
Ours hasn't started yet, we're still waiting to see whether the bank account will be accepted and to get an account number.
I'm scared that we'll not have enough money coming in to live one. I'm convinced that we've missed off out outgoings as they weren't on the list provided by cccs on their site.
I realise that to them they might not be important, but to us they are...Mt BR says that for the first time in *years* he's feeling more relaxed about the finances, so why am I feeling the opposite? Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Give it a bit of time BR. I think once you get the bank account in place and the first payment goes out you'll feel a lot less stressed.
On the other point - do you know there are outgoings you've missed off? I ask because our outgoings for our pets was always wrong, in that we have too many and the cost of them was way over the limit for pets. We bumped up our entertainment by a tenner to account for this difference.

I hope so....sickasachip13 wrote: »On the other point - do you know there are outgoings you've missed off? Yes, I keep having flash moments when i think 'that's been missed off'. We did contact them yesterday with some changes, for example Mr BR had said that we were still getting £20 in tax for his step son (we're not) and we missed off a standing order for £30 which has now been added on, it's changed our pay off time to 8.5 years instead of 7. But just think morning I've remembered that we have a DD for 'home serve' (or something) which is about £20 a week to keep the boiler ticking over and it means that they come out and fix it for free. (We've needed them to do this a couple of times over the last few years) so on the one hand I feel we need to keep that going, but on the other hand it's £20 a month out of our income that we haven't declared to the CCCS. I'm sure there are others *panic*Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Well some more good news! Nationwide have accepted the offer and I spoke to a lovely lady at Barclays who said they hadn't received anything from CCCS but said the offer wouldn't be a problem for them to accept. I feel so relieved!0

Hi hope everyone is ok, my new bank account is nearly sorted, sent stuff of to cccs, any statements I didn't have I just printed out using my online accounts, letters to creditors went off a couple of days ago, had a letter from studio today saying I am in arrears ( so nice of them to point that out), oh and had a phone call from cccs saying that I'd worked out my income 4 weekly instead of monthly and there is an 80 quid difference (app it works out that I have more income in a month than every 4 wks) but the lady was very nice and said that I could have a think about my budget over the weekend and someone would ring me on mon to help me make changes, very nice people. Next week will be spent transferring direct debits, standing orders and wages but at least the printer can have a rest, its time for some phone action instead.
So still no start date but the wheels are starting to turn, 2012 is my new start to my cash only life. Bring it on.LBM - December 2011, Total Debt - £13493.30, DFD - Mar 2021

Well done you, you're very brave ringing Barclays, don't think I'm gonna be much good on the phone, this is the bit of the DMP that I'm not looking forward to, I just hope mine agree as easily as yours did ( probably not)LBM - December 2011, Total Debt - £13493.30, DFD - Mar 2021

Is it wrong that I'm planning in speaking to nobody on the phone??? I can't be dealing with overseas call centers for one and secondly I'm scared stupid.
Currently dodging calls from lloyds until the 19th when I can finally ask them to close my account and tell them Payplan are dealing with things.
A coward??? Me - you bet!SPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293

Am currently in the throws if switching direct debits over. The joy!!! But it appears the RBS don't want my mortgage money as trying to get a form out of them us like getting blood out of a stone!SPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293
