Hi all fellow DMP peeps.
Not posted for a while so bit of an update and need some more advice really.
Been with CCCS since January this year, and they have just cancelled our plan! its due to us having an argument really over an overdraft not added to the plan. We advised that this would be paid off over the next 2 weeks, but I received an email saying plan has been cancelled!!!!!!
I have just spoken to payplan about maybe going with them or I am seriously thinking about going it alone. Had some great advice on this already.
I have set up standing order payments for creditors this month already but have had 2 letters from 2 of my creditors already stating they want more money!!!!!!! Barclaycard have been pigs from day one and now MBNA have started!!!! I am so worried and cant sleep now:( I was hoping that the CCCS would give us a bit of time, Ive even asked if they would restart our plan, but I dont suppose they will respond
Any advice, help or words of comfort lol would be greatly appreciated!LBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -
I have just posted everything off to CCCS and sent letters to all creditors offering token payments for this month. I'm slightly confused as to the next step. Do CCCS contact the creditors now with our offers of payment and requests to stop interest and will they reply to CCCS or to me ? I would rather everything was done in writing so that I have a papertrail. If they write to me do I answer them or do I call CCCS ,send them the letter and they answer ? Sorry if this is a silly question, just slightly confused !!
Any advice greatly appreciated ! Thankyou !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Yes they do and make an offer to them (on a pro rata basis).
In the meantime you may still get phonecalls (I did of HBOS when I was waiting for my Payplan DMP to start), all you need to say that you can make a token payment OR as I did say that you are waiting for your DMP to start and payments will be made then.
Once mine started back in Dec 2005 (that long ago !) the phonecalls stop.
Hope this helpsPinotGrigio41 wrote: »I have just posted everything off to CCCS and sent letters to all creditors offering token payments for this month. I'm slightly confused as to the next step. Ask the DMP manager BEFORE reducing your payment or you may find its cancelled and then all your creditors demand payment in full.secretshopper75 wrote: »Quick question from me...been on my DMP for a while, about 4 years left and am thinking of making one month's token payments to my creditors so that I can replace my car..what do you guys all think?0

Well, today's the day when we go into town and open a new bank account
Pay won't go in until 20th, but Mr BlushingRose has dug out a few dvd box sets and is planning to take them to CEX and get some money on them which will hopefully tide us over. We're thinking of having a 'cutting up the credit cards' ceremony later on as well.
This morning we got a letter from the bank saying that due to going over the overdraft (again) and a returned payment for something else, they are going to charge us £46. Ridiculous, they know we're struggling and so they help us by....making it worse. Well, they'll not be getting any money as there's nowt in the account to take. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

Good Luck with opening the new account. I ahve foudn it strangely satisfing rummaging around the house looking for things to sell to fund any extra bits the children need , rather than just whacking it on a credit card !
Hope all goes well.LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Oh I'm sorry was that my fault ? I cant offer you any words of wisdom, as you can see we are only just starting out, although devouring every word of advice on here for the last 5 months.
If you have had a plan set up before and know the ropes maybe you would be ok to self manage. At the end of the day MBNA etc can only ask for what you can afford I would assume.
Hopefully someone will be along really soon to help you out !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hope the account opening goes ok and enjoy the cutting up the cards. We haven't done that yet. Should really but something keeps stopping me! Not sure why since there is no room on any of them anyway but it seems so final.
I got notification of more charges from my bank yesterday. They're gonna have a shock when they come to take them and realise there is no money in the account!
I've had a bad couple of days. Thought my boiler had packed up last night. Dh managed to get it going but its on its last legs. He thinks he can repair this particular fault himself with a part for around £40 on ebay as its just a faulty fan but how long before something else goes wrong with it. Its never been the most reliable boiler anyway and the issues are becoming more frequent. AAArrrrgghh. There is always something!! Not sure how we will ever find money in our budget for a new boiler!

After months of struggling to meet my minimum payments on my credit cards, with some having to be paid late when I get paid from work and therefore causing me to get stung with late fees each month, I am now trying to tackle my debts. I did the online debt remedy with CCCS and they recommended a DMP which if all interests and charges got frozen would take me 5 years to pay off.
I've received my pack from CCCS and just need to wait for my statements to drop through the post so that I can send everything off to them. Some statements are due in the next few days, and others I've had to ask for paper copies since previously I only got online statements so should hopefully have everything together to send off very soon.
I already had a head start on the bank account as I switched accounts a few months ago to a bank that I don't have any debts with so at least that's one thing I don't need to worry about.
I had a productive night last night writing letters to all to creditors (8 creditors, 13 cards + 1 overdraft in total ) to inform them of my intention to start a DMP with CCCS and that until the plan commences I will be making token payments. All those went off in the post this morning. It's only the very first step but at least I feel like I'm doing something positive to try and resolve my debt problems.0
