    Hi guys

Sorry I haven't been on much, been busy at work. Not much happening on the creditor front, hardly ever get any letters anymore. (should I really been complaining about that? :D)

Applied for another job last week, interviews are next week. I pray I have a chance. I've been at my place for over 7 years now and getting to the stage where I am ready for a change. I have spent the wages 8 times over already! It would mean clearing my debt alot quicker too. Fingers crossed for me guys I could really do with some luck x

Loving some of the new user names. 'PoshPants' is my winner this week, it just tickled me when I read it. I wonder how people think of these things when joining here! :D

Hope you all well? Stay strong x

  • Hi everyone I thought i'd come by and update :) i'm still getting letters from creditors telling me they have received no paperwork from CCCS :wall: (mainly I have to add catalogues ) so i rang the CCCS up and asked them to send the letters to me so i could send them on recorded delivery. No need they said as we send them via computer so they definately have a record of it. They asked for it to be sent electronically and so we have??! Why oh why do creditors have to be such pain in the a$$es!

On the up side I now do actually have enough paper with DEFAULT written on them to paper our bedroom :D..that'll save me a fortune huh!

Good luck to all those starting on their journey!

Im on a DMP with CCCS and have been since January, I did have my current account with NATWEST (have moved everything over to Halifax now) Natwest are still charging me over £100 each month for being over my overdraft and charging me for being overdrawn. I have told them my situation as have CCCS but they still wont except my situation, I am paying £63 into my account via CCCS but this is just wasted money ad being gobbled up. I have sent them a letter of complaint 3 weeks ago but am yet to hear back. What else can i do ?

Hi - this isnt what you want to hear but I am having EXACTLY the same problem - charges are £49/month, my payment is £51/month. I have written to them but I think I will try and ring them up this week and see if they can help. Interestingly I also have a Natwest creditcard which stopped interest instantly so thats not very consistant. I have had a lot to deal with last few months (have an exam tomorrow - eek!) but now I will have time on my hands to harass them.

Let me know if you get anywhere and I'll do likewise!:)

Sorry to post this here if i'm wrong too, but i'm desperate for advice!!!!

I've Been paying into a DMP from Payplan now since August 2007. Never missed a payment, paying 3 different creditors for various things. Nat West are one of the creditors to which i am paying 2 account overdrafts and one personal loan. I recently recieved a letter from Payplan saying that they had recieved a letter from NW regarding the overdraft accounts. Payplan had the balances at (1) £1,400ish and (2) £430ish but NW had the balances at (1) £5,500ish and (2) £2,700ish !!!!!!!! I spoke to NW and they said that it would be down to interest and charges etc etc and i need to get a statement from my local branch to confirm this. Then if i am unhappy i have to write a letter of complaint to them. Obviously i am unhappy! and does anyone have an experience of this or similar?? what are my options??? If they continue adding this interest / charges i will be falling deeper into debt and not coming out of debt like i assumed i was!!!! Please help.............
  • Hiya :)

Had a bit of a big day today so thought I'd pop in to have a moan/keep updated.

I work in education and I'm employed through an agency so my current job was always temporary, but was supposed to have been til the end of term (22nd July). I was already a bit worried about work for the summer, but was hoping to go back to my old waitressing job. Just found out they've reduced opening hours and have too many staff, so no luck there. Then today the school announced that they've run out of money and will end my contract 1st July! :( So gutted. My agency have promised they'll try their hardest to get me something for the last few weeks but there's just no guarantees. I'm terrified of being unemployed again.

BUT I did get an email today inviting me to interview for a position starting in September so the day took a bit of an upward turn!
Then I had my first proper meeting with Christians Against Poverty. Two ladies came to my house, we discussed my situation and all my outgoings, creditors etc. They were so lovely :A I feel so much better and they didn't seem too shocked at my debts, I know it's a simple thing but it's so nice to not be judged (especially when I know I've been so stupid). Looking forward to hearing their progress next week. It's a cliche but I really do feel like a weight's been lifted off my shoulders. Can't believe I tried to do it alone for so long.

Hope everything's going well for everyone and you're able to enjoy a bit of the sun!!

never rely on what the DMP provider tells you always check every month with your creditor either on line or phone. I did and found one of my creditors still charging me interest so the actual amount CCCS were quoting was incorrect and my debt was higher.

The banks should be sending you a yearly statement too so you can see if the balances are increasing that way too. Maybe worth having a word if they're not? Think they're bound by law to send one to you?

Well my situation seems to be changing on a daily basis. DMP started jan 2011. Doing well. partner decides to leave me  and now wants half house. So sort legal advise and offered to buy her out the amount very generous for the amount of equity we have she refused the money coming from parents. Now i find may not be able to transfer my sole name onto mortgage due to debts etc. So may have to sell and rent. In which case i will be thinking of declaring myself bankrupt as then i will have nothing to lose.
