But a thought for the future - the bigger they are the more they cost ;)
Resist entering into the expensive birthdays parties, designer clothes, latest phone type of lifestyle.
Teach your child now and it will last a lifetime - you don't don't need the consumer trappings to live well, just the things that really count.

Thanks for that and I totally agree:) That was the way I was brought up..unfortunately I was too stubborn to take the advice offered hence the debt:o But we will teach DD the value of money as she grows up and cross our fingers she hasn't inherited my stubborn streak....coincidentally I've already got her 1st birthday present, a charm bracelet that I'm going to add to for every special event in her life...excellent quality and less than I would spend on a pile of toys:T

Have a good day all x

Well, Ive been on a dmp for a few years now and yes my debt has come down by about 8k, but there is still about 21k to go, I was paying £350 month but as the cost of living petrol etc has gone up when I had my review I can really only afford £200, this means my DF Date has gone out to approx 9 years to complete, just fed up as I was only looking at 60 months before which was something i could live with, oh well official winge over

    Take care all !

When I think like that I just remember the alternative, which was to pay minimum payments for the rest of my life. At least we can all see an end to it, however far ahead.

I also think of other people in debt, who still have their head in the sand. A guy on the train the other day and was routing through his wallet. He must have pulled out around 7 or 8 credit cards.

Now, he's either in too much debt, does lots of balance transfers and is coping, or is a pickpocket!

Thanks Twitty. I received a letter this morning asking me to send stuff to cccs, which I have done already. BUT I have had Barclays on the phone asking me when we are going to pay back our overdraft, and how much my husbands wages are, and getting really snotty because I said it varies month to month and I didnt know. They turned around and said, 'well he got £6000 in Jan, is that about average?' I said no, that was a one off, and unlikely to happen again! And most of it went to them anyway! I'm just hoping they don't make a big thing of his wages as they are up and down, and he has had some good wages in the past, but not anymore. tHE 6000 was nearly triple what he normally gets.:(
