Hi guys, like a few others I only discovered this thread today and have literally just popped everything in the post to creditors & National Debtline to get the wheels in motion - wish I'd have found it sooner as I too have been growing nervous about what may or may not happen etc.

I notice a lot of you guys have arrangements through cccs, has anyone had experience of a DMP though national debtline? They have been great so far but just curious about any feedback.

Look forward to contributing to this already fantastic and nerve calming thread!:)

Andy - National Debtline will refer you on to either CCCS or Payplan - they referred me to CCCS. Both ND and CCCS have been great so far - answering all my stupid and paranoid questions, and this thread is great too. Good luck!

    Thanks MissPriss!

Another question for everyone, has anyone had to deal with payday loan companies as part of their DMP and how have they found it/them?

Hey - it's still all going very well! :)
Getting a default notice when you've always paid up front, never missed etc is a real gut-wrencher isn't it? :(
BUT - the hard truth is you're now on a DMP and your creditors aren't receiving your contractual repayments. So - some might issue default notices.
However don't weep or lose sleep over them! Better sooner than later. They last 6 years from the date of issue, so although it might not feel like the best news ever now, you've got one early on in your DMP which is good.
As TF once said, she could paper her walls with them! (Start a new trend then, and cheaper than B + Q :D)
Honest - don't worry. Just keep in mind you're chipping away at that debt and one day it will be just a memory.

Thank you, its nice to be able to 'talk' to others going through the same, I just feel so ill at the moment. I was so worried they would make our monthly payment too much because occasionally my husband will have a bumper month, but other times he gets hardly anything, and I didnt tell national debtline about the money we owe his dad and I think I probably should have done, but I can tell cccs when they contact me, right? Will they phone or write?

    Hi
Although like **confuzzled** my memory for the details of DMP set-up are hazy now, I can still recall the 'feeling ill' bit only too well :(
The sleepless nights, the 'what if', the not eating etc. etc.........
But have a look at this thread. Those who've done this awhile still have problems and questions but it's become a part of life - there in the background, but we live and deal with it.
You do need to include all your debts; make sure you've got everything included at the start.
Does get better - honest :)
So Hello to you and all folk old and new on this thread

Well the postman has been busy around my door this week received another letter from a preditor regarding my review. It was from M & S they have accepted the £21.20 reduction per month. They also sent me a default notice which did not bother me as I thought they already had and also they have breach regulations because the default notice should be served within the first 6 months so I believe.

How ironic is this HFC refuse to accept £1 something reduction a month on a £200 debt, yet M & S accept a £20 odd reduction on a £6,000 debt. No consistency at all.

Some of you new DMPers might want to check this forum out its filled with loads of good info I work between the two and have gleemed a vast amount of info from these threads.

    Hi all,
only just come across this thread and it's FAB:j:j Wish I'd known about it when we started on our DMP with CCCS, we wouldn't have been half as stressed with the "what ifs?":) We started our in Nov 09:)

We're lucky, we're just coasting along and have managed to maintain our monthly payment despite having our 1st child, being off on maternity leave and most recently..childcare costs! Hopefully with more creative planning we can continue paying the original amount as DD gets older(more demanding:p) :D

I've now subscribed and will lurk as often as poss:)

ETA: can I please have a number????:A TIA

    Hi
    Glad you found us!
With all the fantastic info. and threads on the :money:site it's like opening a treasure box really and discovering all fab stuff within :)
Great you've been able to maintain your budget/repayments!
But a thought for the future - the bigger they are the more they cost ;)
Resist entering into the expensive birthdays parties, designer clothes, latest phone type of lifestyle.
Teach your child now and it will last a lifetime - you don't don't need the consumer trappings to live well, just the things that really count.
