    Hello all :)

Got my DMP start date of 1st July, so that's when the 1st direct debt to CCCS come out.

I've spoken to one of my creditors (Santander) who have already accepted CCCS payment offer and stopped interest and charges! Result! Just the other 6 to hear from now! :undecided

I wasn't sure of going down the DMP route but today has made me feel a little better.

    Good luck to all...

REVIEW UPDATE - Creditors Not Happy

I arrived home to find a letter from CCCS. They have wrote to me informing me that as a result of me reducing my budget and payment to CCCS one of my creditors HFC have refused to accept the revised offer they have a query over the budget. CCCS will continue to make payments but are just flagging up that HFC may default me and sell the debt on. I knew things had been too good for too long. I have another debt with them so i can expect another letter. I may write to them explaining in detail why my payment has decreased.

On a good note I changed my mobile phone on Sunday went to Phones 4 U and I got a new phone no credit checks as it was an upgrade. I have to say though my stomach was in knots when they were drawing the contract up but got the phone I wanted and the deal I wanted so that cheered me up slightly.

Hope everyone is fine and good luck to all the newbies on the site.

    Hi Mikon

Haven't been contributing on here much as lots going on with me (see my previous posts), but just wanted to say that out DMP payment has been reviewed and reduced (at my instigation) a couple of times. I have had similar letters from CCCS regarding creditor responses following a review and I think they use a standard letter format. The reasons being were
    1."larger payment required"
    2."creditor has query on budget"
    3."new budget required"
    4."debt transfer"
5.(the one that made me REALLY smile "account in credit" - for an overdraft!!!).
None of these resulted in any greater harrassment or grief from the creditors concerned and none of them reinstated interest. I think that creditors just like letting you know that although you have taken control of your debts, they still have a hold over you to an extent. I reduced my payment by a shocking amount last month until September this year (due to maternity pay) and have spoken to all my creditors in person. They have all seemed to be understanding and have told me they will note my accounts to expect a new I & E in September. However, in light of the mega increases in fuel bills announced today and a very measly increase in pay (I work for the NHS earning well below the threshold for entitlement to pay increase) I will not be able to increase my payment to my previous payment level. I have also had to reduce my hours slightly as well due to childcare arrangements for my new baby daughter. However, I just keep thinking they can only get what I can afford no matter what!!!:)

Well I bit the bullet today and rang up the creditors I hadn't heard from and I am so glad I did :j

Tesco and Mint are still piling on the interest but I spoke to a lovely woman who said that the plan is accepted but that they are going to default me by the end of the month :T and pass it on the DCA but I should ignore and file letters and keep paying.

I rang Northern Rock who I had been avoiding and they confirmed that the plan was accepted this morning and will be reviewed in 12 months :j

The only people I haven't rang are Santander. They are getting more than I was paying on a minimum payment anyway and they haven't added any charges or interest onto my account so I will leave them until they start ringing/writing to me I think.

I remember less than 3 months ago not being able to ring any of my creditors as I would have just cried and today I felt strong and did not feel that I was in the wrong, but pleased that I was doing something about it instead.

Anyone who is reading this thread worrying about setting up a DMP, yes it is very scary and I envisaged debt collectors hammering on my door, CCJs and instead I have encountered nothing but kindness from people on here and even my creditors. Mrs Tesco was lovely this morning.

I think I shall make a brew to celebrate :D

    Morning all ,

Havent posted for a wee while as we have just been coasting along on our DMP. A few small hiccups on the way but so far so good.

I'm posting today though to share my good news.

    I got a new job :j:j.

More hours, more money which means loads more to put towards the debt Yippee :D.

We are only paying a tiny bit a month just now on our DMP so this means i will actually get to see the debt going down.

It's only temporary maternity cover but with a possibility of a permanant job after.

    Hi all,
only just come across this thread and it's FAB:j:j Wish I'd known about it when we started on our DMP with CCCS, we wouldn't have been half as stressed with the "what ifs?":) We started our in Nov 09:)

We're lucky, we're just coasting along and have managed to maintain our monthly payment despite having our 1st child, being off on maternity leave and most recently..childcare costs! Hopefully with more creative planning we can continue paying the original amount as DD gets older(more demanding:p) :D

I've now subscribed and will lurk as often as poss:)

ETA: can I please have a number????:A TIA

So with regards to payslip, will they want several, or just the last one? The last one was less than what we put on the form, and the one before that £500 more, but that was a good month for my hubby, and it all went to his father anyway as we owe him money. I went through a budget form with national debtline, will I have to do it again with cccs? we had everything worked out but I cant remember half of it now!

Anything he gets over the average we put down we were planning to put into the dmp after paying his dad off completely, should we tell them that?

IIRC they'll want to the last 3 months of wage slips and yes they'll go through a budget with you which will help them to work out what your monthly payment will be, if you still have the 1 from national debtline it will help so you don't have to pull out all the information again:)

Yes tell them this, they also encourage you to have an emergency fund so it will help with that aspect of your budget.

Don't worry, CCCS are great and they also realise that even though you're in debt you still need to have a life:cool:

Thank you, its nice to be able to 'talk' to others going through the same, I just feel so ill at the moment. I was so worried they would make our monthly payment too much because occasionally my husband will have a bumper month, but other times he gets hardly anything, and I didnt tell national debtline about the money we owe his dad and I think I probably should have done, but I can tell cccs when they contact me, right? Will they phone or write?

Be 100% honest about everything so it can be factored into your budget, if they don't know about it they can't help you with it;)

From what I can remember(my memory is shocking:o) they send you a letter to inform you of when they're likely to call, they do this to make sure you're in and so you can get all paperwork sorted before their call. Although this may have changed as it was Oct 09 when we began the process.

That ill feeling you have will disappear soon, I promise:) x
