Congratulations on expecting! I use freecycle alot, people are so generous. What is an SOA? :)

Statement of Affairs. Basically a breakdown of your financial position which lists all of your assets, liabilities, income and expenditures.
So; money in :) and money out :(

Well that was a complete waste of my time. CCCS just told me to suck it up and deal with it myself.

I phoned asking for help, and it was all "well, the system says you should be fine" - REALLY?!!

Well I'm obviously bloomin' not fine am I?

No advice on my Payday loan. None at all.

    Bloomin' pointless.

I just wanted some help, and now I'm sat at work crying and wondering what else I can sell. Considering things that I've never even thought about before.

Really unhappy it's got this bad for you, but look at the answers you've had from the loyal folk on this thread. All of it is good advice.
Don't despair but try again. Gather all the advice you can. Try the other debt charities (as well as CCCS again with a full breakdown of your situation.)
You'll work your way through this, promise.

Ooh look - it's the 'Twitty' thread!
Apologies, not been around for a while and then commandeered the messages :o:o:o
Hope all have a good evening - forget the debt for tonight, relax, and take up the reins again tomorrow.

  • Hi southern belle please try not to get yourself so upset. I am doing a self admin dmp will admit it wasn't easy at the start, I got in touch with national debt line for some advice they gave me a client number which I use to show my creditors I am seeking advice from a third party, also lots of lovely advice from this forum(couldn't have done it without this forum thanks everyone). There were times I was both physically and mentally exhausted, but I persevered now I hardly ever hear from my creditors except when it's time for a review, usually over the phone .the only thing I will say if you go down the self admin route is send token payments until you have a wee fund for emergencies that was the one thing I didn't do and wished I had . You will see your balance go up ,I did and nearly panicked , then things settled down and I am only paying a pittance as the mantra on this thread is they can't have what you haven't got is a good one .I used to avoid answering the phone in the beginning and would get loads of calls there were a few days I would unplug the phone just to get a wee bit peace then when I was further into my dmp I felt strong enough to speak to my creditors I started answering my phone and was really surprised at how nice most of them were.I won't pretend it was easy at the start but it is so worth it so please stick with it and I hope you find a plan that suits you as op said you could give cccs another call you might get someone more understanding sorry for rambling on take carexxx

Hello - haven't been on this site for ages - great to see old 'faces' still around! Have been on CCCS DMP for about 2.5 years now. All going swimmingly, did 1 F&F for a small credit card with CitiBank because they were being very aggressive. Had a couple of blips where I couldn't pay full amount (car problem then boiler problem), but just paid less, then back to full amount - so no problems.

My question is, I'm finding it a bit of struggle at the moment with increased petrol costs and general cost of living, as I'm sure most people are around the country! I currently pay £280 a month on approx £19.5k of debt, due to be debt free in 2017/8. My wages are £21k pa. I'd like to drop by about £25 each month as this is what I'm running short by.... But then it's only £25...

Should I continue to really stretch myself as the DFD is already sooo far away, or do you think it is reasonable to pay less? Am trying to find extra work but no luck so far. Do you think that lenders have had a lot of DMPers reducing their payment amounts with the current increased costs of living?
    Thanks for listening! :D

    Hi all *waves*

I just got a phone call from Robinson Way/Wade?? I'm guessing they're a DCA but they wanted me to confirm address, DOB etc, before telling me who they were and what they wanted so I told them to naff off, explaining that I was hardly likely to give out my details over the phone to some random!

Anyhow, I'm guessing they're a DCA (they had 'that' sound about them). Does anyone else deal with them? I'm also curious - is there any particular creditors they deal with? I ask because none of ours has told us about being passed to this company.

    Cheers dears

Well after 18 months on my DMP Lloyds TSB has finally frozen interest (after months and months of late charges, colossal interest and of course the debt just got bigger and bigger and bigger). Woop woop, can't believe it. :j Just hope it continues. It's a very, very wet evening here - hope its better weather for some of you peeps out there.
