  • If they don't pay me again to the correct account. I will just put another claim in for something else. No way am I letting them get away with it. Luckily I can hopefully ask my Union to get involved and since they recommend using Payplan I don't think they'll be happy to find me being £25.00 down. My first thought when it took so long to come was that they had paid the eye test people instead of me and that I had filled something wrong in when I attached the eyetest receipt. That kind of error I would accept. Like I said there was no warning anywhere that the money was not going into my wages account. I will make sure it costs them more than the £25.00 in person hours if they don't pay me. Time spent has already cost a tidy penny. I need that £25.00 it is a weeks decent food to me.

I had an issue when a friend paid in a cheque to my pre DMP account. I argued with the bank they had no right to accept as the account was closed. I won and it was sorted out.

I'd say tackle it with the bank and asking wages to withdraw it. Is the account still open?

    Good Luck.

Good Morning, isn't the weather lovely....hope everyone is ok today? Not much to update from me
  • (I'd posted this on the main site before i saw this one! Please help/advise if you can :))

Hi there! I'm new to this site although i've been on a Debt Management Plan for about 3 years.
I've been offered a redundancy package at work, but i wouldn't want to use ALL of it to pay off my existing debt as that would leave me with next to nothing to live on until i find another job.

    My questions are:
    - if i wanted to offer my creditors a full and final payment, would they ask to see my bank account details before they accept
    - if i owe, say £20,000 what is the likelihood of them accepting about £8000 as a F&F offer?
    - are there any disadvantages of offering a F&F offer
    many thanks

Hello everyone, I haven't posted for ages - been busy sorting family stuff out and quitting smoking! Yay 3 months and counting. I still dip in and out of the threads when I am having a bit of a wobble, just to gain perspective and support from you wonderful people.
It is time for my review with cccs, I can't beleive it has been 6 months already. I got an email from them asking whether my circumstances had improved (I wish) and to provide income details. As my circumstances are the same, is the temporary token arrangement likely to continue for the next 6 months or will they be looking for alternatives? I work in the public sector where colleagues are being made redundant left right and centre, I have no opportunity to increase my hours or increase my income at the moment, even paying my £4 a month into my DMP in Feb was a bit of a struggle!
Thankfully I am due a tax rebate and 5 months worth of mileage which should make life a little more bearable.

take care all and enjoy the sunshine

Hello everyone I'm new, but I'd just like to thank you all for posting on here. As others have said, it's an absolute lifeline when you're panicking and not sure what to do or where to go. You've all saved my sanity recently, and for that I'm very grateful.
I'm about to start on a dmp, and am overall very positive about it, but today I feel sick and just want it all to go away. But not setting one up is not an option as I've run out of credit and I know no-one would lend me any more! I haven't told my partner and can't as he has mental health issues and it would start of a spiral of behaviour and interaction that would just make this whole thing so much worse. Can't tell my family as my sister has already gone through this and it caused my mum so much stress that I couldn't do that to her again. So you are all my virtual family! I hope you won't mind if I come on and vent when necessary and bang my drum when I've had some good news or a breakthrough?

I'm sure I'll be back soon to panic - stomach is churning today. I set up a safe bank account yesterday, but will need to wait about 10 days to get the details through. Just have to be patient I guess! I can type up all my letters in the meantime; any other suggestions of things to do so I feel like I'm doing something productive?

    Thanks,

    MissPriss

Thank you! I got a reply! Wow, well done for stopping smoking. I've just started the stop smoking attempt - great timing eh? But then there never seems to be a time that's not stressful, so I thought I might as well have a go now, it should save money.

    Hi there

I answered on the other thread, go for it, good luck, it can be possible to get fully satisfied not just partials, see the debtline information. Will depend on whether you want credit again I'd say. Let us know how you get on.

Hope the review goes fine. I'm sure they will be hearing we are all feeling the pinch, if you haven't got it you can't pay it. Let us know how you get on.

Welcome to the family. I haven't told anyone either and have got away with it 12 months in! As you say the site is a lifeline. Everyone's feeling the pinch so in some ways it's an easier time to keep a DMP quiet if you know what I mean. Not that we should feel ashamed, this way the debt gets paid back, we are just asking them to be reasonable with interest charges afterall most of us have paid that over and over! If you go in panic mode channel the energy and menu plan and make lists so at least the nervous energy is put to good use. Planning will save both time and money!

Yes lovely Day SS. Hope you are all doing well.

You always get a reply on this thread, it may not always be the one that you want, but that is another matter!
Smoking definately contributed to my debts, continuing to smoke contributed o my anxiety about my debts ad infinitum.
pop over to the giving up smoking thread for further support if you need it.
