Hello everyone I'm new, but I'd just like to thank you all for posting on here. As others have said, it's an absolute lifeline when you're panicking and not sure what to do or where to go. You've all saved my sanity recently, and for that I'm very grateful.
I'm about to start on a dmp, and am overall very positive about it, but today I feel sick and just want it all to go away. But not setting one up is not an option as I've run out of credit and I know no-one would lend me any more! I haven't told my partner and can't as he has mental health issues and it would start of a spiral of behaviour and interaction that would just make this whole thing so much worse. Can't tell my family as my sister has already gone through this and it caused my mum so much stress that I couldn't do that to her again. So you are all my virtual family! I hope you won't mind if I come on and vent when necessary and bang my drum when I've had some good news or a breakthrough?

I'm sure I'll be back soon to panic - stomach is churning today. I set up a safe bank account yesterday, but will need to wait about 10 days to get the details through. Just have to be patient I guess! I can type up all my letters in the meantime; any other suggestions of things to do so I feel like I'm doing something productive?

    Thanks,

    MissPriss

Depending on the circumstances, could you speak to your sister about this? Just to confide?

If not, then welcome to your new online family!

Thanks everyone for being so welcoming! Ianmk, I could talk to my sister, I think, but there's something stopping me. Maybe I think she'll tell Mum, which my logical brain knows is rubbish, but I have a totally independent very vocal, non-logical brain too. I will think on it though, it would be nice to phone her for a chat. Maybe I've just got used to keeping all this to myself though.

I must admit that my family don't know the full extent of my debt. I've only told my gf (who came onto the scene 30 months into my DMP - and she's still here!), and a close friend. And of course the rabble on here.

I'm not proud of my debt, but I certainly haven't shyed away from it, and will help anyone in the same boat with advice for them. Hence why I'm here lol.

I like my new online family! I feel so much better than when I woke up. Have started my template letters, and doing some menus and costings for the weekly shop.

    Just a quick update!

Everything seems to be plodding along quite nicely _ get a few days a month where we seem to receive a flurry of demanding letters but we just file them and keep paying CCCS!

Our car seems to be eating money at the moment which is stressing me out a bit (2 tyres needed, new wing mirror and £520 bill to pay before end of month!). Trying to save as much as I can and have planned menus etc down to the last biscuit!!! (Supermarkets saver kind!).

Hope everyone else is okay, at least the sun is shining!
Shellshock  or Nik now the shock has subsided!!

Thanks HH for your post - the longer I can get away with keeping this quiet, the better. It's my issue and I don't want to cause anyone any stress as it's not their fault, it's mine! The menu's are coming along nicely - think I might have to ditch the heavy casseroles though, if this lovely weather persists..... fingers crossed!

I have been on a DMP with CCCS since Jan, I have several debts one of which being my Natwest bank account (i have a new halifax account now) because they are charging me £6 per day for going over my overdraft and interest of £47.00 for using my overdraft. I do not use this account anymore and the £65.00 CCCS payment going in each month isnt even touching th balance it is raising by £100 a month.
I have written to natwest only to be sent an income and expenditure form to fill in, CCCS again sent them the one i had filled in with them.
They are being very unhelpful and i have sent them another letter explaining i am in no position to pay anymore and that CCCS are sendign them the Income and expenditure form they have.

Any ideas on anything else i can do ??
    CCCS DMP paperwork sent 30/11/10
    1st payment starts 10th January :T
    Total unsecured debt 12500 _pale_
hopefully paid off in 5 years :)

    37 weeks pregnant :j

I sound like a stuck record sometimes for which I apologise, but have you tried speaking to them on the phone?

My bank accounts were the longest to stop charges and interest (6 months), but even then they were only adding perhaps £25 a month. £6 a day seems a bit excessive!

i dont really want to speak to them on the phone, i do not stand up for myself well enough and think i might give in to there demands. I am not good on the phone and was hoping a letter might get me somewhere.

  • Some progress may be being made at last! I checked my MBNA on line statement and they have listed CCCS as an additional credit card holder and interest applied was 0% and £0 to be applied next month :j:j

    1 down 6 to go .....
