    Hi all,

Post Office credit card have now passed debt onto DLC (Nightmare, I hear) as I had demand for full amount this morning. Do I write to them with same offer of £25 that I offered post off when they still had debt. Do I need to send SOA

Do you they tend to accept? Should I just send £25 with payment slip they have sent me
  • Hey Guys,
lovely day today again and no work :j
Well everything on the self managed DMP is quiet, except for Santander, who are a real pain in the !!! !!
they have said they dont accept our DMP and are going to pass us on, but my OH keeps getting phone calls to his mobile and to the house phone  he has told them we are on a debt management plan, but they wont accept that its self managed  they say unless we can tell them the name of the DMP firm they will continue to phone !! and its like groundhog day, that same call 2 or 3 times a day !! So i am going to send them the 'no phone calls letter!!' jokers!!

Anyway aside from that not too bad :rotfl:

Going to do a bit of baking today, nothing to amazing, just some little cupcakes for the kids :rotfl:

anyway, hope you all have a good day :T

Well done on the self management! Self management or not, DMP or not, In credit or in debt, they have no right to ring you if you state communications are to be in writting. Suggest you consider telling them that and that you will be reporting them to the Ombudsman! Good luck with it.

This is normally a standard letter, and they will be happy for you to carry on as before. Are you doing this self managed?

Started a self managed dmp in March. Owe £36k. We are offering Money on pro rata basis so have offered post off £25 per month and have been paying it since last month.

Got letter from DLC today to see they had been given post office account. We owe £1600.

So I was wondering if I just need to send standard letter to them with offer. I was thinking of using payment slip they sent to pay £25 rather than full amount they want.

Have a look here: http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/pdf/self_help_pack/credit_debts.pdf and their other stuff too. Very useful website! Page 33 mentions about Debt Collection Agencies.

    Good luck!

Hi everyone - hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous weathered weekend!

Mrs Trouble - I imagine your having a lovely weekend after your news on Friday :j

My DMP is finally sorted... 1st payment leaves my account on May 1st and I'm excited about it. Gonna take me 7 years (!) to be debt free, but hopefully I may get that done sooner, overtime at work permitted.

Bit of a bummer though that I received a letter from the delightful Inland Revenue informing me that I'd been underpaying my tax for the year 2008... I owe them £996. Gutted, but called the CCCS immediately and they re-shuffled my payment so that it doesn't leave me short. I have to say, so far, the people at CCCS have been amazing. Tax will be payed back at £30 straight from my wages. Annoyed, cos it's THEIR fault not mine.

Still - it's not going to spoil my weekend! OH is taking me to the local riverside pub tomorrow for a coke and a packet of plain crisps (heaven!) to celebrate my DMP getting sorted

Enjoy the rest of your weekends all! xx

And I for one am always grateful for your help and advice - thanks.
Just passing through quickly at the end of this lovely, sunny day. Had a day off from the treadmill of work today - no money to speak of, but doesn't it make you feel brighter and more positive when the sun shines? :)
I might invest a pound on the National tomorrow (frittering money away again!:o) but what the heck - you can't live life in a vacuum.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
Soon enough it will be back to the grindstone - so enjoy the little pleasures of life.

Hi everyone and hope you are all well. I invested my pound today on the National, and I wonder if I'm the only one who felt sick to the stomach when I saw those two poor horses lying with covers around them, plainly dying. Don't get me wrong, I've loved the race for years (I'm Irish!) but maybe going a bit soft in my old age!
I think Twitty says it all, enjoy the little pleasures of life, back to the Rat Race soon enough.

I was there, but thankfully i didn't see any of this going on - in fact i only found out about them after i got home, without winning anything too. Oh well, i'd saved up for my big day long and hard since January so at least i'm no worse off that i was before :o

Shame about the two horsies too, but they are bred to be race horses and I suppose this is one possible end to their lives albeit very sad :(
