They asked me to take in proof of address and the bank statement so i'm guessing it's not for the address.
Stelly x
They may want to see the 'state' of your account. Try not to worry if RBS say no there will be others that say yes. Have to say I've been very pleased with the Coop.
Good luck

Hi, they haven't issued me with a default as I am keeping on top of payments. I'm just wondering why they have entered me into the DMP when I changed my mind on the same day and they are now telling me that they cannot reverse the DMP. Surely they would prefer to be paid more each month?
Hi
Put it in writting and make it clear to them what you are expecting them to respond to so that you have piece of mind.
Hope that helps

I was previuosly getting my electric and gas through EON.I owe them £360 which has been included on my DMP.
I have just had a letter from Utility debt services, acting on behalf of EON threatening court action. I phoned them and they are saying CCCS havent been in touch. I gave CCCS there details some time ago. I had it confirmed by them that it was a computer generated letter and that they have also received my letter authorising CCCS to deal on my behalf. I have just emailed CCCS(phone lines busy) for them to respond to UDS.
What is the likelyhood of court action. Has anyone incorporated a utility debt in a DMP before?0 -
The payday loan company who took a big chunk of the money from my account has finally responded to my email (I only had to send it 6 times in response to their computer generated ones). They said
"Appointing a Debt Management Company is all fine and we are legally obliged to accept the payment from them. However this does not stop us from chasing the balance until it is cleared in full directly with ourselves. Your contractual obligation is to pay the full balance off. Whilst you are paying them we will call you still daily to get the full balance recovery from you.
"I suggest you contact us either directly by E-mail or call us on XXXXX to arrange something. Going with a Debt Management company as advised will not stop us calling daily, E-mailing or asking our third party door to door collections team to recover the balance. We will also not stop adding the contractual fees and charges to the account until this is sorted with us directly."
They then asked me to provide my bank card details (as if!!!! - made that mistake once, won't do it again), saying that they will stop fees and interest if I do and then say that they can only accept payment by debit card and that they "will not accept payments to the bank":mad::mad:
I have sent a detailed reply saying:- After they emptied my account, despite promises of accepting a reduced payment, I will not be providing my card details.
- Their threats to call daily will be seen as harrassment and will be reported as such.
- That I revoke licence under common law for them to visit me.
Scotty - we are including several that are with various DCAs, although we are just getting started. A number of them have made threats about court action but, touch wood, none of them actually has. The letters tend to have the phrases "may", "could" and "recommend".

Total newbie here, so I apologise if I'm about to ask a question that you see a hundred times a day.
My girlfriend and I have accumulated over £16K of debt since our son was born 18 months ago and recently got to the point where we can't cope. Lightbulb moment was a little late in coming, and finally happened when I realised that taking out a £50 payday loan in November last year to cover the shortfall was obviously not a good idea. And I only realised that as I clicked the computer confirming my acceptance to their T&C's for this months £300 payday loan knowing that next month it would be £400. Yeah, dumb as &^%t, I admit it.
So over the past 2 weeks I've been learning everything I can about DMP's and how to start them up. I've just opened a new (clean) bank account and am about to send out postal orders for token payments to everyone. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with CCCS so that I can give them my budget and detail my debts.
So I've been reading these boards and seeing all the grief that I can look forward to over the next few months. One thing that worries me is all these creditors who refuse to freeze interest and charges. Whats the point of paying them an amount agreed in a DMP if I will potentially owe them more in 3 years than I do now? So my question is this...
Why bother paying token amounts and making payment plans only for them to keep applying interest and charges? Wouldn't it make more sense to default on all debts now (that way I don't worry about them adding a default to my credit file in 3 years when I'm about to finish my DMP as I saw happened to one person here). Obviously after 2 months of non payment they would sell the debt to a DCA, and I can make them the DMP offer knowing they're more likely to accept as the get the full amount owed and they can't apply interest?0 -
Hi,
It appears that some will stop the interest and charges and others will take their time and perhaps only do it a bit. Not all will be sold to a DCA. I think there are some template letters requesting the interest to be stopped, I think most companies would eventually agree.
We are hoping to scrape any savings from our planned budget into a savings account and then use the amout to offer full and final settlements to any that don't stop the interest, or to see if we can get rid of some of the bigger ones more quickly.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Because a Debt Management Plan is a way for you to pay off your debts fairly, and for you to show willing. Paying the token amounts for two months (of £1) is likely to force a default anyway. What you say makes sense in theory, but defaulting on payments and trying to force your creditor to sell your debt, isn't really ethical, and more likely to get you a lovely visit to court.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
