    Hello and welcome!
Just a very brief reply as my stomach is complaining loudly at not being fed yet! :o
A 'F & F' (Full and Final) is an offer you would make to your creditors to clear your debt in total and in perpetuity. You would offer a reduced amount (usually start at 50% of the amount owing) to clear your account.
Many have done this, if they have the funds available, but it's also worth bearing in mind that your other creditors and DMP company will not be happy :(
This is because they feel you are showing preferential treatment to one creditor and they are being sidelined.
Sorry - can be no help re: Triton.

Well, had our second year review yesterday with Payplan .. Gosh has it been 2 years already ?

Dispite the increase in fuel and energy, we have managed to reduce our outgoings, and even managed to up our DMP Payments by £20 a month .. ok not much, but it gives our creditors an extra £2 or so, plus the gas / elec budget has meant slight over payments in the summer will not give us any nasty suprises this winter. Energy has actually come down by £30 a month, so that is giving us a little flexibility.

Still no luck on the car front, Managed to put £500 aside over the last 3 months, but to be honest that is going to buy us trouble.
Even applied for £1500 car finance over 12 months (easily affordable and doable within 9 months), but were turned down unless we could provide a guarantor !!.. Im mean !!!!!! !!!..
Needless to say we didnt continue with the application.
Spoke wityh Payplan and they were cool as its seen as Essential debt... just wish the finance companies would see it like that.

    Hi everyone...

Havent been on here for a little while but unfortunately things went mega wrong :( switched from Kensington to Harrington Brooks earlier this year and they took the initial payments but then it all went pear-shaped. OH got into trouble with bank charges so he didnt have enough money to pay the mortgage and car loan so HB didnt get paid.
I managed to pay them a token payment in October but in the meantime Citi Card were on my back, ringing constantly. HB sorted them out with something out of the token I gave them but then one morning I got a call from them (CC) on a number I hadnt given them (the landline number) when I demanded to know where they had got the number from they said 'it was the number noted on the account to ring to obtain a debit card payment' I blew then and shouted down the phone at them for so long they were taken aback and promised to only deal with HB from then on which to their credit they have.
Unfortunately then a week or so later OH and I were rammed deliberately off the M18 by a dangerous driver and I was injured physically and mentally - I was an absolute wreck and couldnt deal with anything, so I rang HB and stressed how important it was that they should deal with EVERYTHING for me which to their credit they have been absolutely fantastic with. They promised to contact all my creditors and reiterate I must not be contacted and I should be left alone to recover - and any questions/problems MUST be directed to them and them alone.
Well, my creditors respected that - except Reliable Collections who rang constantly looking for payment. I told them on several occasions they were breaching the OFT guidelines and despite the notes stating that I had said I was unable to deal with my accounts they kept ringing constantly, and the straw that broke the camel's back was when one nasty piece of work on a Sunday morning said 'We dont care, we will keep ringing until you pay up.'

I came straight off the phone and called Vodafone, explained I was receiving severe harrassment, and paid them to change my number. RC had kept demanding a home and work number but every time I simply said 'Im not prepared to give them to you.' HB were absolutely furious I had had to go to such lengths to stop them ringing but now only family, close friends, work and HB have my new number - silence is blissful. RC sent the usual threat-o-gram letters but these have now thankfully stopped - my wages are going to be badly affected as Ive missed so much time off work but HB have adjusted my payments for me until Im back on my full wages again which is a massive relief.
I've been told I will get compensation for my injuries which Im planning to use to pay off some of my debts, I'm just going to say to HB look heres x, distribute it as best you can but how tempted am I to say get knotted reliable, Im going to give it to those companies who listened and respected my privacy!!!! I know I cant but it would be nice!!!

Hope everyone is well and has a nice xmas.

  • thank you guys for your words of encouragement and support, its appreciated. Had confirmation email from CCCS yesterday to say everything was sent off on the 14th December to creditors so we've written to MBNA again to advise of this.

I have got sooo used to Barclaycard harrassing me 4-5 times a day, now the phone calls have stopped it feels weird! Havent heard from them in 2 days now, dont know whether to be worried or relieved! lol.

Dont want to get my hopes up, but I really do hope that things will settle down quickly, me and OH really dont need the stress right now, especially with the health issues that OH suffers with. I think im gonna turn grey overnight lol

Hope everyone is ok.....will keep posting.

Thank goodness I found this site and this thread :)

  • Quick update! HSBC accepted my proposal in writing on 12th November - passed to Metropolitan on 8th December - classy. I understand Metropolitan is in-house DCA for HSBC so hoping they will pick up where HSBC (normal) left off - details to payplan today to transfer the payment and make the offers etc.

I have made an official complaint to HSBC mainly on basis of poor customer service! why accept and then transfer in 3 weeks - grrrrr...

anyone have any experiences with Metropolitan?

    Hi.
Did you not receive a letter from citi saying the account was being transferred? I did about 2 mnths ago and informed cccs that they would have to change who the payment wentto from nov, which they did. So my Dmp has just carried on as normal with them. Opus are not a DCA just another company who have bought some of citi's accounts. from what I can remember they are owned by bank of Scotland. Maybe give them a ring just to clarify the situation.

    Regards
    Sx

    Mrs Mc S,

Yes, I knew it was being transferred, and not to a DCA. What threw me was the CCCS had changed the name on the payment schedule, but I didn't have a new account number. My November payment has gone astray. I've spoken to Opus and CCCS so hopefully all will be sorted soon :)

My November payment by CCCS went to Citicard they auto transferred to Opus.
Received letter from Opus last week which contained my account number so changed the payment details by logging on to my CCCS account online,December payment has already gone to Opus who also have reduced interest to 0.5 %
  • Hi All

Just an update and a question to ask :)

Things are going fairly well, 4 month into the DMP now and although two of the creditor are still adding full interest I can see the total debt starting to come down, unlike before going on the DMP.

This month has been a bit of a struggle especially with 2 kids showing all the things they want for christmas :( but work has been busy so a bit of overtime has been forthcoming which has helped.

I've had a letter today from CCCS asking for a review of our finances, does anyone know if its usual to ask for a review after only 3-4 months I thought the reviews were yearly.

Again I'd like to thank all the DMP'ers who gave advice at the start and wish all a good Christmas :xmassign::snow_grin:santa2::xmassmile

They will ask for a review, as they'll want to make sure that you're coping ok on the budget that's been set. If you're struggling then you maybe able to lower payments, if you've got surplus at the end of the month, then you could increase payments.

After that it'll be yearly as you'll be nice and settled by then. Hopefully!

Of course if your circumstances change for better or worse, then you can ask for a review at any time.
