hi all,
well barclaycard have stopped calling hurray and also mbna thank god! But OH has had a nasty letter from MBNA today, which did surprise me as he had emailed them letting them know about our dmp and gave our client ref no AND they responded and said they would remove our numbers etc, then this. Basically the letter states that if OH does not make a payment with regards to the arrears or contacts them (which he has) then they are saying they will pass his account to solicitors to commence legal action:eek: either CCJ or send bailiffs round:eek: I have just informed the CCCS about this but what else can we do? My OH is now seriously distressed and he suffers from all sorts of health problems.......is this a scare tactic/standard letter????
Getting seriously worried now.........OMG what will i do???LBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -
Hi Jasper.
All sounds rather automated. Many threaten but then rarely do initiate legal action. I'd just send a recorded delivery letter setting out the course of events and remind them you only want to deal in writing. They do it to get you anxious. The important thing is it's just money and every court in the land would stand in your favour as long as you show you are being reasonable which if you are with CCCS I would suggest you are. Try to keep calm, it will be 2014 before you know it. Not sure if it helps but if I get fretty I get busy either gym or cleaning or sorting out cupbaords and drawers so at least you put the nervous energy to good use.
Hope that helps.

Hi JC. I had lots of support on here from HH and others when I got this type of letter but as HH says they are pretty standard. Just hoping to scare you in to suddenly finding the money!!
Each creditor seems to have different proceedures and different time scales to implement them so try not to worry as it will run its course as I have learnt. I spent too much time worrying what might happen and so far its all gone ok.
Been on the DMP since July ad lnly just had the final notification that interest has been stopped so it can take a while. Personally I have been lucky that most of our creditors have been quite approachable on the phone even Nat West Triton.
I did have to write on letter of complaint as kept getting late payment charges and high interest on our Post Office CC. They then stopped all interest and even refunded the late payment charges so it is worth standing up for yourself sometimes.
I only had the cofidence to ring creditors and write the letters as a direct result of help on this forum.
One day at a time.:)

Time will tell. The OFT have the power to do it. They just have to show some guts for once should MBNA or others continue.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I was told on here that Nat West take a bit longer and that was true with us. Took a while to get to Triton their DCA and I was really worried as had heard bad things about them. Anyway We have large debts with Nat West and luckily they have frozen interest and even verbally offered a F&F of half of what we owe (shame we don't have that sitting in a bank:()so hopefully it will be much the same for you. We rang them to find out what was going on and they were great on the phone luckily.:)

Our first letter came for the address you have then from Triton also in Telford so asume its the same thing?? Others on the forum will be better informed. Also the letter we got last week says 'The above accounts will no longer acrue interest. This is due to a review by the bank'. I think Triton is part of the Nat West collection dept?
Anyway lets hope its the same for you.
f&f means a 'full & final offer". A one off payment to clear that particular debt. Depending on how much you owe, who the debt is now with, how long you are paying over gives you more of less room for negotiation. You can either make an offer or a creditor (as with us) will offer one directly.
Its complicated though as by paying one creditor you can be in trouble as it is seen as predjudice against other creditors?? We are still confused about it all but were amazed at getting that offer so quickly (although its not in writing) Apparantly though that does happen quite often.DMP mutual support member 3970 -

Hi all well have sent all paperwork to CCCS and has been recieved if they have everything they need when roughly will the payments to CCCS start?
I started proceedings with CCCS on the 06/10/2010
All went through smoothly and they took the first Direct Debit payment from my new bank account on 10/11/2010
