Christ, don't take my advice, it's normally wrong!!!
And about your Sainsburys voucher, the highlight of my week last week was being handed a £5 off a £15 shop at the local Waitrose in Farringdon. Ok so that'd probably pay for a bar of chocolate, but hey, it'd be a treat!
Sorry, sorry off post! But did you see the Heston Blumnenthal Christmas Pud with Orange (£13-99 at Waitrose but sold out now) has been selling for £100+ on E-Bay?
Enjoy your chocolate or whatever - at least we've learnt to take pleasure without needing to spend a silly fortune just for 'show.':j

And P.S. - your advice is always helpful, correct and bursting with common sense :T0 -

Ha ha! I actually got FOUR of those vouchers, would you believe, Ian!
So if you take into account the £76 Sainsburys Visa (I know it's different, but to me they're all the same) refunded me last month, plus the £32 from the vouchers, that makes, erm, TF £108 versus Sainsburys NIL (for once!). I'm not even adding the 25% off the presents I bought, so I like to believe that I'm getting the money they are robbing me off back, bit by bit.
However, it may take me until I'm 124, which I admit defeats the purpose, somewhat.:(

hi everyone again hope all are well
got a letter of acceptance from m + s today, only my second one which after 4 weeks of the initial letters tells you how hard it is to get these things setup again accepted my terms for a year.............
have noticed though apart from capital one (who ring sometimes 12 times a day despite my letter stating not to ring) the others have stopped bothering so presumably have accepted my terms but just havent let me no!
baffling at times this0 -
to the posters on the previous page about the inconsistencies of the creditors
totally agree some good advice i was given a few pages back by ian suggested re sending the original letter a few weeks after the first if no/ or poor response
m + s basically fobbed me off, i resent the second letter with a slight edit mentioning how my original offer stood and i had made my first payment on my terms, today as above they have accepted said payments.
i am not to keen to give "advice" as the very little i have learnt/learning has come from some very good people on here

Well as you travel down the road I'm sure you'll become the expert on doing your own DMP!
In addition I think at the beginning it's a case of the creditors wanting to know just how serious you are about the DMP...DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

Oh my god, I cannot allow that to happen it will send my OH over the edge as he suffers from ME, depression and stress. Are these bully boy tactics? are barclaycard just trying to scare me?
Think I need to call CCCS and tell me about this I am really worried now. Have i done the right thing???
JC:(
It is scary when you keep getting these threatening letters from Mercers. We were getting them too, see my earlier posts. Eventually I rang Mercers to try and sort things out and found that the lady I spoke to was helpful and they have now accepted our reduced payments.
I was able to ring them as I felt that I had gained enough info from this site to be able to stand my ground whilst speaking to them and it did pay off in our situation.
We haven't had any phonecalls for the last couple of days and they did confirm that they would not be sending anyone to the house.
I too had written to Mercers on a number of occasions but they said that they had not received any of them (sent recorded) nor had CCCS informed them that we were on a DMP (letters re-sent 18/11/2010) they said that they may have been in the building but just not got to the right department yet!
We've had a rocky few months with Barclaycard/Mercers but still feel that a DMP is the right decision.
Hope that this helps

Today was "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!" (but not in that order!)
Starting with the "Ugly" - That'd be the bruises to my back, and arms and legs after skidding on some black ice on the way to work on the mountain bike. The bruises were from sliding down the hill i was on while refusing to let go of my bike!
The "Bad" - Got home to find a letter from MBNA titled "Notice Of Sums In Arrears"!!! I was expecting some 'negative' communication from them as they have 'rejected' the offer from Payplan as indicated on JustABank. The letter advised to ring them to discuss payment of the arrears, so i did, which kinda leads on to...............
The "Good" - I was dreading ringing MBNA as i dont do well under pressure on the phone on a personal level (at work i'm fine and deal with all sorts of wierd and wonderful people, but because its an area i'm comfortable in i'm fine with it). When i rang MBNA and got through to a nice man, who went through the usual security checks, and then said "I dont understand why you got those letters, your account shows that PayPlan are dealing with this for you"!. He then proceeded to advise me that the payments of £XXXX had been agreed and no interest or charges would be added provided i carried on paying that. He did mention that as this would not pay the account of within 5 years they could not accept me onto a formal DMP with them. It 'may' be extended in 8 months or it 'may' be passed on to a third party for continued collection.
So hows your day been (try and put it into the title of a movie if it helps!!!)

'Groundhog Day' - this morning I woke up and the DMP was still there, so another day of frugal living again.
But one morning the day will have moved on - cue the big, happy, cheesy ending
Goodbye credit
