Brilliant! I smoked for years (as lots of us in the 'Health' Service did not so long ago :o.) Hardest thing ever to give up, but just look at all that money you're saving!!! You've got a clean, healthy pair of lungs and a clean, healthy future in front of you. :j

    Hiya TF!
Would the 'merry band' be Santa's grotty grotto? Those of us who won't be buying i-Pads, Wii's or 4 wheel drive BMWs as Christmas presents? (Put it on the plastic!!! :D)
But our own very exclusive cash-only clan who spend the little we have, or try make something special to share with our loved ones at this special time? :heart2:
I've got a glass of sherry (:o) so declaring an early Christmas here in the frozen North!

  • My OH has continued to receive phonecalls all over the weekend from Mercers so..... we have bitten the bullet and phoned them back:eek: OH gave me authority to speak to them and it has paid off! I explained everything to them re: CCCS, letters etc. etc. and I went through our I&E with them. They have now agreed to stop ringing and writing and will accept our reduced payments:)

I am so happy and I owe it all to you lovely people, without your support I would not have been able to make this call and I wouldn't have had the knowledge to deal with them.

A BIG BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP:T

    Ellie xx

Just cleaning the house ready for the decs and I had a 'moment' when I realised that everything I buy will be paid for this Christmas and its a great feeling. Proud to be one of the 'merry band'.

Ellie well done with Mercers. What a result.
Had a funny moment on Friday when Triton rang - but in person this time. They asked for me then backtracked apologising really politely as they had 'already spoken to me and were' sorry for bothering me'.
Thought i'd stepped into another dimension. Automated calls have stopped too. (well for the moment)
Justabank is now showing that Nat West (Triton) have 'accepted' the DMP on the OD which is great news but still no news at all on the large loan.
I'm not going to go on about it again though as PDD will tell me off again. (too right):o

I've been reading a lot of posts on here over the last couple of weeks, and am amazed at just how inconsist creditors treat different people going in to a DMP. Sometimes you see the CC people stop charging the interest straight away for some but with others flatly refuse.
Does anybody who has been at this for a long time know why this can be the case??? I'm worried, we have 4 separate CC but with two creditors MBNA and Barclaycard, on here people dicuss their experiences with both but these dont appear to make consistent decisions about freezing interest, charges etc.
Anyone have any ideas, I'd love to hear them, getting pretty freaked out now:eek:

Totally agree with you newbeg. There is no rhyme or reason as to how creditors deal with everyone. Both my OH and myself had Barclaycards, they stopped the interest straightaway on mine but with my OH they have been merciless and continued to apply interest and chase us for the debt.

In the end I have spoken to them (see earlier posts) and they have now agreed to freeze the interest and stop interest.

I find it just totally bizarre, I really do. Really glad to hear you managed to sort out Barclaycard, a real weight off your mind I bet :T
I'll keep you all posted with how our creditors deal with us, just hope we have some of the luck people have had on here, would take a weight from my mind

I really do believe that communication makes a difference. I also believe your debt free date makes a difference. That is to say, perhaps someone with a 10 year dfd, maybe more likely to have their interest stopped, than someone with a 5 year dfd.

But, perhaps I'm clutching at straws here!

    Morning.
I am sick to death of the bloomin phone ringing (same numbers) and am not sure wether it is preditors or not, i have stored my phone book with names and numbers of family friends etc so if i don't recognise the number i don't answer but could be missing an important one
Is there anyway i can find out the phone numbers of these preditors who might call ?
    Cap one
    Barclaycard
    Partnership card
    Lloyds tsb credit cards
    Next

Am fed up shouting to the kids "Ignore it" lol
I really don't feel ready to speak to them on the phone yet.

    TIA
