It was pouring down here this afternoon and very windy - not nice at all!! It's still very windy but at least the sun has come out a bit.
I'm exhausted. I've been clearing out my daughter's bedroom and breaking up the old chests of drawers etc. I've put it all in the car along with the matress from her bed so that I can take it to the recycling centre tomorrow. She hasn't lived at home for 6 years - been away at agricultural college and then uni and when she comes home now she's with her boyfriend. He has a cat allergy, and I have 3 cats, so they stay with my eldest daughter. I'm going to make her bedroom into an office, then the computer and all my shelves and desk can get out of my bedroom and I can have my bedroom back as just a bedroom. I'm sure I'll be able to sleep better then
Mind you, I'm not sure how I'll be able to connect to the internet. I've got a wireless router which my daughters used for their laptops but it might be a bit too technical for me to set up my desktop. if I'm not around tomorrow, you'll know I'm struggling with the technology!!!0 -
Di i did. It looks lovely! Nice gardens.
Pixie you have worked really hard. Take a bow (An old madonna song). I am rubbish at the computer stuff. One of the IT chappies at work does mine they know how thick i am. The first job the builders have to do on the 16th is take apart my computer. I would only break things and lose bits!
I watched tv. I hardly did anything. Just spoken to one of my best friends she is a diabetic too. Going through hypos like me. That's what we do all summer! Am going to do a bit of sorting now in this room. How can a person have so many books? I am always giving books to charity. I could have created a library of my own honestly but who would want to read Economics books apart from a nutter like me?

I've got loads and loads of books: books from uni (which I must put on ebay), reference books, children's books, a full set of the Poldark novels, loads of !!!!!! Francis and James Patterson books, loads of paperback from charity shops which can passed around between me, my daughters and my mother-in-law. No Economics books though ut I have got quite a lot of Science books!! I could live without TV but I couldn't live without books.0 -

That's right SW, the gardens I think is very attractive, and as they are more or less on the mountainside, from his bedroom window he has all the farm views.
As a small boy he lived on a farm which is why he thinks he is still there now bless him, but happy for it.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I have a black female cat called Mischief who's 20 but still gets up to mischief!! Then I have 2 tabby cats, brother and sister, who are 13. That's in addition to the dog and the rabbit!
If I'm struggling with the computer/wireless stuff I'll ask my brother or nephew - they've both got degrees in computing and don't live far away. I'm just not sure if my desktop is set up for wireless though I've got a wireless usb thingy (technical eh?!) so I'll try with that.
I'm going to have a long soak in the bath and an early night after my last 2 nights with hardly any sleep.0 -

I am so sorry about your knee. Please follow my advice. When i was ill i kept wanting to go back to work and doctor's wouldnt let me. When i started to heal they admitted that i had defied all the odds as i should have lost my sight. Most people who had what i had do!!! Please rest. Life is precious. Look after yourself ok.
Good luck with Guernsey interview. Think of the holiday.
Jobs are going to be cut in all public services. Do you ever read Worried Jim's thread, hanging my head in shame. Our debate is on there. Worried Jim is going to become a busker and i will howl with his dog in the subways to get by!!! Read it for a laugh ok!!! But we know it is a worrying situation for everyone.
here is an update it has been a strange week for MSE but all is well:
summary of the last few days:
Nid has sorted out Ann, Beanie has sorted her credit card debt
Jinny has had problem's sleeping due to elderly neighbour who is ill
Ann, beanie and Sw have had haircuts
Di's dear son did not get the job he wanted
we interrogated Mr Fitz last night and discovered he may be a plumber
Jen went to a festival where men wore kilts
Mr and Mrs Niddy's daughter had her prom (Nid seemed shocked that boys might be present)
Pixie met the the Chippendale's
Nid is trying to post a bit less as he is so busy
Di, sorry to hear about your son, but pleased about your dad.
Jen, did you check... if you know what I mean
Mr Niddy did well not to superglue DD to the homestead methinks
Basically a normal week in DWDHi Moneypenny,
I can totally identify with your situation!
I live on my own and, as much as I love to have family and friends visiting, I do breathe a little sight of relief when they leave, as it is good to get my own space back and to get the house back to how I like it!
Perhaps your house-guest will act as a catalyst in helping you decide about the Guernsey job? Sounds like a brilliant opportunity.
Sorry to hear about the knee - that can't help the situation. Don't you break up for the holidays soon?
In all honesty if I were going to share my flat with anyone it would be him, he's a good mate, likes the same music and stuff, just a shame I don't fancy him really, cos we'd make an ideal couple. Especially as he thinks I'm gorgeous... (he'll be sectioned by the end of the week) End of problem lol
Ann hows the enforcement stuff going? I hope they're dropping like flies for you.0 -

Sounds lovelyIt seems a far nicer and more caring home than the last care home. I'm sure he'll be much happier and settled.
My Dad lived on a farm when he was younger and so did I until I was 4.0 -

They weren't the real Chippendales - I think they'd be far too old by now
We didn't get to see them perform though because not enough women turned up. I had a very enjoyable night out though. In spite of what it might've appeared like on here in the last few weeks, I do not go out very often :rotfl: so that made it even more enjoyable (plus I got to see cute guy again.)0
