You do get used to having your own space don't you Moneypenny? Perhaps your friend won't be with you for too long.

A job in Guernsey?? Can I come too? :p

    Good morning my lovely friends.

    Hope your all well.:j

Thank you all for your lovely messages.

I will be seeing dad later on this afternoon, yesterday mum and my brother went to see him, he seemed calm enough, very quiet, and his chest still not great, although the caring staff are doing all they can to make him pain free and comfortable.
Although he is getting very frustrated in not being able to walk without help.

I will tell you more later after I come home from the visit, I am hoping to speak to whoever is in charge today for more info, hopefully they will give me this.;) Thank you all, your all so lovely and so caring, I think the world of you all.:A

Sun was out first thing, but now all grey looking and very breezy, must try to get out there and wash the car.:D

Lady Moneypenny it has been a strange week here too.

I am so sorry about your knee. Please follow my advice. When i was ill i kept wanting to go back to work and doctor's wouldnt let me. When i started to heal they admitted that i had defied all the odds as i should have lost my sight. Most people who had what i had do!!! Please rest. Life is precious. Look after yourself ok.

Good luck with Guernsey interview. Think of the holiday.

Jobs are going to be cut in all public services. Do you ever read Worried Jim's thread, hanging my head in shame. Our debate is on there. Worried Jim is going to become a busker and i will howl with his dog in the subways to get by!!! Read it for a laugh ok!!! But we know it is a worrying situation for everyone.

here is an update it has been a strange week for MSE but all is well:

summary of the last few days:
Nid has sorted out Ann, Beanie has sorted her credit card debt
Jinny has had problem's sleeping due to elderly neighbour who is ill
Ann, beanie and Sw have had haircuts
Di's dear son did not get the job he wanted
we interrogated Mr Fitz last night and discovered he may be a plumber
Jen went to a festival where men wore kilts
Mr and Mrs Niddy's daughter had her prom (Nid seemed shocked that boys might be present)
    Pixie met the the Chippendale's
Nid is trying to post a bit less as he is so busy

Everyone is in the sunshine except me!!! It's very overcast here and very windy.

Mind you, that just about matches my mood today. I'm feeling very down and I'm also very tired because I had a late night Friday and then couldn't sleep last night.

    Hi Pixie,

Sorry to hear that you are feeling down.

Is it a general feeling or anything specific that you can share with us on here? A trouble shared, and all that ....

    00020403.gifHow is everyone today?

I've been MIA I know but it's been a pretty roller coaster week.

On Monday, a good and longstanding friend called and explained that he was about to be made homeless, could he please make use of my spare room. I said yes, put the phone down and started panicking. Apart from my kids and my ex, I've lived alone ever since I left home 30 odd years ago. I've lived alone totally for the past 10 years since my divorce and have become very set in my ways. So it's a big learning curve, lots of discussions about bills, shopping and so on... all stuff I hate doing. Thankfully, he's taken himself off to visit a friend for the weekend, having realised what a big deal this is for me I think. So have had a day wandering around in my nightie and doing very little yesterday.

Also, Doctor took one look at my knee last Wednesday and signed me off for another two weeks. 0002041D.gif I'm getting well and truly peed off with not being able to do what I want now. 000203F6.gif Can't wait to be able to run again.

Also I've applied for a job on Guernsey, fingers crossed for at least an interview. Morale is so low where I work that over 20% of the workforce is leaving at the end of the term. Huge turnover and about 70% of those that are there hate working there. Me included.

Anyhow, how is everyone, I just can't catch up with all the posts, Di how is your dad? Ann, where are you with the dreaded banks? Is there a potted update that won't bore the nice people who get here to read every post?

How's the weight loss club going? I've been emotional eating to quell down the panic all week so need to get back on track. Pixie don't worry about the stone, I've got another 2 to lose and I've lost 3 1/2 already 00020459.gif You'll do it when you're ready

    Hi Moneypenny,

I can totally identify with your situation!

I live on my own and, as much as I love to have family and friends visiting, I do breathe a little sight of relief when they leave, as it is good to get my own space back and to get the house back to how I like it!

Perhaps your house-guest will act as a catalyst in helping you decide about the Guernsey job? Sounds like a brilliant opportunity.

Sorry to hear about the knee - that can't help the situation. Don't you break up for the holidays soon?
