Getting a dishwasher to make life easier?

I love my dishwasher. I find unloading it a bit of a chore (don't mind loading it so much) but much quicker than washing everything by hand.
We have ours on once a day usually, it's a full size one, not slimline. We've had ours for 6 years now and I really wouldn't want to be without it.0 -
I got my dishwasher last summer. Best thing I have ever bought. I really love it as a 5 min whizz round the house, bung it all in the dw and everything looks so tidy. We put ours on once a day or slightly less.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I would absolutely love to have a dishwasher
I haven't got any under counter space for one though and I already have a condenser dryer in the kitchen (not under a counter). I could fit one in but I just wonder if it's actually worth having one? Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

We have a slimline dishwasher because it is only the two of us. With 4 babies I would opt for a bigger one.
A year ago our dishwasher broke and even though I immediately bought a new one, it didn't work and my OH was too lazy to call them to have them to look at it for about 4 months (he works from home a lot and can be there when they come). Even though he did the washing every night, it drove me nuts because every time I came home from work the worktop was full of cups from his cup of teas etc... Finally it got repaired (as expected, once they came it took them seconds to repair it) and I wouldn't be without one ever again. It is just so easy. Everything dirty goes straight in and the worktops are tidy and clean all the time.0 -
We got a bosch classic slimline ( not sure of the model no) I use the quick wash option - 29 mins :jmost nights and do a longer wash on a weekend to make sure it does get clogged that takes 149 mins .
I would reckon you would put a slimline one on twice a day - we're a family of 4 and struggle to only do one load when we are all at home.
Wouldn't be with out one in fact my whole kitchen was chopped and changed to fit one in -not got room to swing a cat!! Enjoy yours when you get it.Plan to PAD Everyday 2026Credit Card - £2864.24 int free to 31/05/26) -PAD TotalsJan 2026 - £277.72Feb 2026 - £40.57 11.11% paid!0 -
we had been a non dishwasher household for 30 years then bought one 6 years ago its the best thing i ever did, should have bought one when my daughters were at home , now my 3 yr old grandson helps me load it . I bought a years supply of finish quantum tabs from home bargains a few weeks ago , they were a lot cheaper than usual . i highly reccommend them.:hello:What goes around - comes around

I love my dishwasher! It is a Smeg slimline one and i have had it for about 6 years. It has only broken down once - just out of warranty grr. Didnt get it fixed for a few weeks as we couldnt afford it and i thought i wouldnt miss it:rotfl: Well i soon found the money to fix it:D
I find it very efficient and cleans things really well, even casserole dishes/pots etc.
Plus it uses less energy/water to clean stuff in the dishwasher than it does to handwash it apparently. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
There's only me, and I bought the cheapest slimline DW on the market a couple of months ago. Improved the quality of my life 100% !.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -

We got a Bosch one and I love it.
I thought we didn't have room for one but eventually we got the washing machine put in the cellar and we put the dishwasher where the washing machine used to be.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
