I refer everyone to post 14 in this thread. If you had listened to me....well, I will say no more! :D

please dont say anymore - all you said was "scam" and repeated it about 50 times.

It was too late for many people, they had already parted with their cash and they had began to wonder if they had done the right thing.

I think that's right. The first posts on this thread were on 9 June, and by then people were already popping up asking whether they had done the right thing.

  • My name is Dean Rae and I am the director of Investment Property Group (IPG) Ltd a company which I registered with companies house on 9th September 2010. One of my colleagues has today spoken to a vendor who after carrying out a google search found this thread relating to an IPG(Investment Property Group) being a scam. Our company registration number is 7371535 we are based in the North East and are in now way connected to the company being discussed in this thread as asking for money upfront etc. I can also confirm that the same company has been highlighted by the FSA as they are targeting motivated sellers and are asking for upfront fees. I would simply like to confirm that we are not in ANY way related to this company and although we also help vendors who need to move quickly we DO NOT charge any FEES at all to vendors and offer a very professional service to both vendors and investors alike. Please feel free to contact us or me on 0191 280 4171 or search us on companies house, the company being discussed in this thread are registered under the number 05709215 as THE LETTING AGENT and are not based in the North East.

Hi Director. You need to contact MSETowers to get permission to post - chances are it will be OK but you must have permission.

You would probably be advised to publish inb your full name etc.

To be frank, your very best bet is to ditch your current company and register a new one. Google will never forget this thread, and you'll be explaining yourself for years into the future. Just put it down to bad luck, or bad research if I'm being judgmental, but if you soldier on with the present company you'll have much grief that you can quite easily avoid.

Very sound advice - particularly as the scam IPG were active in the North East.

Did you not research whether any other companies were using this name before starting your own?

I believe Harrods are unforgiving of any Australian shops who use theirs.

If Google brought you here, then why not to what was happening on the date you formed your company?
    Been away for a while.

Seems very odd that another company, with the same name, has appeared, just as the other one closed down/disappeared ........

It would be even odder if the scammers reappeared under the same name. Triple bluff?
