You just make a complaint to the normal complaints department of Lloyds, alleging that they failed to carry out their duties under the Money Laundering regulations, and this led to your loss. http://www.lloydstsb.com/contact_us/complaints_procedure.asp - By post: write to us at LTSB, Customer Relations, 2 Brindleyplace, Birmingham, B1 2AB.

They will probably stonewall, eg the data protection act does not allow them to discuss another party's account with you. Then just take it to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Lloyds will give you details of how to do this.

This attack on Lloyds probably won't get you anywhere, but it's a lot better than spending massive legal fees attacking them in court and also not getting anywhere. You could always get a solicitor to help you word your complaint to Lloyds. Your main problem is that you have not a shred of evidence that Lloyds failed in their duties - you just assume they did. They may well have been taken in by faked documents, but good luck anyway.

I would like to personally thank everyone for this thread. It has provided me with numerous hours of entertainment thanks all.

Thanks to the ones who wasted money, got conned etc, and thanks to those arguing the insane view that they were legit. Also great thanks to those trying to point out the error of the 'fool's way.

In that the age old saving:

Fool and his money are easily parted.

Thanks all for a good chuckle. Learn that a house is worth what someone in an open market is willing to pay... if someone offers you more, or doesn't negotiate well but asks for money upfront... get a braincell or two....
Am still amased it work.. preyed on peoples greed and ignorance.
  • Hi,

I was targetted by IPG on houseweb.com when i paid for an advert to go online for the sale of my house so to answer your question i wasnt reccomended by the solicitor.
  • Anyone who agrees to pay any fees upfront to anybody who claims to be interested in buying a property should be asking themselves a few questions. That they didn't is extraordinarily foolish. Do estate agents charge the vendors upfront fees?

On the very first page of this thread people were being warned not to get involved with this bunch of shysters and some still didn't heed that warning, so they only have themselves to blame imo.

To be fair, B&T most of the people (all?) who posted here had already paid their money over. The advice came a bit late for them.

i still chuckle at their logic.

House is on market at estate agent and on rightmove but isnt selling for asking price for x months.

Then A 'buyer' comes along and I, I have to pay 1200 quid to get them to BUY my property.. yes i have to pay for them to pay me.... But ofcourse they could've just found my property on rightmove themselves... but why should they need a 'finder'.

Oh well they offered the FULL asking price... infact they offered MORE than the FULL asking price and i am SOOOO LUCKY.

    Aahahahahahahahaha

    Seriously.

The last few comments are totally indicative of this site - laughing at peoples misfortunes.
I would have thought that certain people would have the insight not to ridicule others, basically what goes around comes around ..........

Well, you were one of the people who was told by others in a way that could not be misuderstood that IPG were an obvious scam outfit, but still went ahead and paid them money because they claimed to have found a buyer for your property, so ridicule was bound to come your way......
