Good luck to those who lost money.

I suspect your only hope is they were stupid enough to leave a trail behind them.
    Been away for a while.
  • Unfortunately, I was daft enough to become a victim of the Investment Property Group. Not only did they take the initial £1199 payment, paid by CHAPS, as mentioned above, but they then took a further £1200 out of my account without my knowledge or authorisation.

I had received official looking contracts initially and they even sent a memorandum of sale to my solicitors! I could go into all the details, but ....

... the point is that the bank don't want to know and I'm not sure about the police yet, as they will be calling round to see me tomorrow.

What I want to know is what course of action can I take to attempt to recover my money? I can't be the only one, so they need to be stopped.
  • So sorry to hear about this pip. I really hope the police can help you on this one. It would give us great satisfaction for them to catch these guys and throw away the key. We are still waiting to hear back after our ten day ultimatum, but that is just a forgone thing I am sure. Let us know how you get on with the police. Think we have exhausted all the avenues we can think of. Good Luck!:)

On the £1200, make a formal complaint to the bank, and if no joy with them, take the matter to the Financial Ombudsman.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Absolutely right. If the account holder did not authorise the transaction, the bank is responsible.

Just in case anyone thought I had gone away. So not the case. I have been away from PC for over a month that is all. All those who have been conned by this lot do contact me. I cannot believe they are continuing albeit no longer with Mr Brown looking at the properties but someone else. I know of at least three police forces investigating this lot so why no progress?? ie basically it cannot be proved at the current time that a crime has been committed - just the gullible still being taken in. TAKE NOTE ANYONE WHOEVER HEARS OF ANY SUCH COMPANY AS THIS.

how do i cut/copy and paste in here........i have found the letting agent ltd kmp house on 192.com a new feature (cost £18) you can get a full copmpany report........including the director and i assume his address.
maybe somebody on here subscribes to 192.com.
i bet it is Mark Jones....it may have his address. he is on IPG website as director.
i also found some references to letting agent ltd on this site.
it looks like IPG is the spawn of ..the letting agent ltd
if you get it publish his name and address for us all please

If you just want an address you don't need to spend £18 - you can get any documents you want from Companies House for £1. This is the list for The Letting Agent: http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/4bda691cb6f3026997aff5437b52f01d/wcprodorder?ft=1

Mark Jones is director and secretary from 1st April, Peter Jones director from 29th June.

What do you propose to do with the information, though? I am sure the investigating authorities will already be aware.
  • Sounds like another dead alley Ray. They seem to have covered their tracks really well the b*****ds! The only hope we have is that the police will have to do something if more people contact them. Anyone checking them out under the company name should bring up this site and prevent any further fraud by Investment Property Group. Doesn't help those of us that got stung unfortunately. What we need is a computer whizz to hack into their e-mail accounts.

Getting the police to arrest these people will not help anyone get their money back.
  • Think it's not very likely that's going to happen unfortunately. As Carole said earlier difficult to prove a crime has been committed, and because they are small amounts (relatively speaking, not to us tho) the police won't act until the volume of complaints increases.
