Did you see what Martin wrote about secret lower rates offered by CC companies if you transfer to them? It could be useful for you.

Chin up, IMD. And tell that hubbie of yours to remove his finger from his bum and sort out about the bonus else an irrate Pickle will come round and vinegar him for you! ;)

I will pass that on to OH :rotfl:

Where is the article about lower rates. I really do not want to apply for cards at the moment as I am 100% sure that despite never missing payments, it is highly unlikely that I would get a card so will just have to grin and bear it for a while. We have a "spare" card so I can transfer between cards, the one that OH is allegedly going to ring up..........

It might have been in one of his books, now I come to think about it. The Money Diet, maybe.

I've lent it to someone else I would look it up for you. I think he basically said that if you rang up one of your CC comanies and asked to transfer your debt from another card to them so that they were effectively dealing with both debts, that they might offer you a preferential rate.

But seriously, first try for some 0% with different companies and use that as a back-up plan if necessary.

Good luck. And is there any point trying to have a talk with OH? I can tell you feel really alone in all this at the minute. x

I hang onto the inspiration that Hypno gives me that I will do this. Felt very very stressed this morning but have calmed down a little now, have had yet more positive talks with my boss about my future here and it looks good. I have sadly indulged in chocolate this morning and therefore spent money but not much so I'm still being good!

Checked banking, nothing overly exciting happening there, like the magical addition of £5k (yes I still live in hope :rotfl:) but all DD's going out that are accounted for and nothing scary and unexpected there.

Will see if OH will ring CC company up later.............ooh a pig flying!

  • IMD, if you have not missed any payments, maybe you can still get 0%s? Then what you save on interest you can put into an overpayment...sorry, expect you know that!! I got 0% with Virgin and 3.9% with RBS recently - though I now realise I could have got 0% with Virgin full stop, but my impetuous nature has cost me this time! Mind you, am going to clear the RBS by autumn so the 3.9% is not too painful - i think it is the first time I've ever paid interest on them as i've always been a perpetual tart! RBS also has a 15 month 0% on their direct banking website at the mo - might be worth a go?

    Good luck

    Hi IMD,

Happy new diary, sweetie. I can totally understand the stress you are under at the moment but remember you are not alone... I am also under that stress cloud sitting right beside you !;)

Lots of bills to pay ... ( Dh car :(, DS shoes, Electricity et etc) and not enough money to pay for it all as like you our minimum payments are massive . We will find a way :D

    Lots of love to you
