so we now know its on all 5 mobile networks, expect pricing to be competetive. O2 have announced that existing iphone customers can pay off their contract at a rate of £20 for every remaining month of their plan to upgrade to IP4.

    Bargain?

Still a handset charge for the IP4 even for upgrade customers despite paying out their contracts. why are o2 doing this when they have the slowest, smallest 3g network of all 5 operators.

Competition is a wonderful thing...pack up and port your number elsewhere.

Apple are reported to have set the prices for the iPhone and will not allow discounting.

My bet is all the tarrifs will be more or less alike give or take a few quid just as they are now.

It was expected that when Orange and Vodafone got iPhone it would drop, it didn't and as Tmobile and 3 are smaller than Voda and Ora then I can't see this changing at all.

Oh what a dilemma, am at the end of my 12 month simplicity £20/month sub, have a 16gb 3gs iphone, bought it for £420 outright from Apple.....does that qualify for one of the o2 upgrades? If not maybe I should try and sell the phone and buy from Apple...it is in excellent condition as I've kept it completely covered......what to do??

I have just spoken to an 'apple expert'on their website. she said the iphone4 will be the same price to buy outright (payg) as their current 3gs pricings. so £449(16gb) and £499(32gb).
I am duean upgrade after my contract run out on my 3gs in jan/feb so am hoping i will get a cheap if not free upgrade.
However, I can choose not to upgrade and take £150 and am thinking going on simplicity an buying the phone may be the better option.

    For the same plan 300mins unltd texts etc. 12month simplicity= £15month. 24Month normal contract= £30month = £180 over a 12 month period. (£240 over the £35month 18month contract)
    thats 180 + 150 (instead of upgrade) = £330 (£390 based on 18month contract)
so for the sake of £120 i can have a half length contract (allowing me to upgrade with the release of the iphone 2011 or whatever phone is best at the time) this especially makes sense if they try and make me pay for an upgrade.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

i just cant see that happening

why with all the hype would they keep it as the same price as an older model?

    I Assume

    Iphone 3gs 8gb = £349
    Iphone 4g 16gb = £449
    Iphone 4g 32gb = £539
