As you say it's only a phone, well an iPod and a phone in reality, but £500 isn't that much really. leave everybody to buy what they want, what a person decides in reality has nothing to do with anyone else, so what I change my phone every 9 to 12 months, it's my money and my choice, I will spend my money how I want and on what I want and nobody has the right to question my choice.
I wouldn't think of telling anyone else what to do (god forbid!).
You are free to spend your money any way you please, it was just a personally opinion, don't get hot under the collar!0 -
Just looking at the O2 Twitter account. They tweeted the following at 8:36pm on 7/6/9:
O2 customers still in contract will get a limited time special upgrade offer. More details in the coming days at www.j.mp/iPhoneOnO2
Not sure if a tweeted link will work so here's a clickyIn the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

I am currently out of 02 contact with a 3gs. (Bought the 3gs outright at launch and changed it to my 3g contract.) I was on 18month £45 o2 coontract (however my monthly spend was normally higher (grr)), however i dont know what priority band im in. I have now been on simplicity rolling 1month cointract for a few months waiting for the new iphone to keep my upgrade privileges.
Currently I dont know the prices of the new phone, on o2 or any other network. I have however registered my interest with the 3 major netowrks.
Does anyone know how likely i am to be upgraded to the iphone 4 for free and if not price point atall.
I know it's all quite secret atm, but any help would be much appreciated.
THANKS x0 -

I would have thought that a free upgrade would be unlikely unless you're a high spender (and maybe not even then!).
Looking like all the networks are going to announcing their pricing together.
I work for one of the network and I can't find out anything, the first any of us will know is when they issue a press release !0 -
O2 have released details of the early upgrade "offer" which they mentioned on twitter. This was also leaked by a few sites earlier today but basically its £20 per month remaining on contract to upgrade. Looks good on paper as iPhone tariffs are £25-£75 so saving money. But you aren't
It's possible to come off iPhone tariffs onto regular tariffs (I did this 2 months ago as I stopped using my iPhone as I'd got an X10). Once on regular tariffs you can downgrade to an eventual £10 a month (on 24 month contracts). For most people with a year left, it works out much cheaper to downgrade tariff than take the early upgrade offer (the exceptions being £45, £60 and £75 a month customers if you have a year left) though you'll have to work it out for your own circumstances (unless this fine site wants to come up with a tool to do it of course)0
