In answer to the question on this forum...

T-Mobile, Voda, O2 and Orange have all declared. Expect to pay a minimum of £45 per month over a 24 month term to get the 16GB version free. Cheaper contracts will have a one off charge for the phone. Min contract price £35 per month + cost of phone £100+ depending on GB.

To be honest I see the current 3GS prices being the ones for IP4 and the current 3GS dropping to 3G prices.

Hopefully with all the networks getting behind the lauch we should see some unique price points rather than the almost "fixed" prices we see now with the 3GS. Also consider the 3GS is still a pretty good phone and prices will drop on this as the model becomes obselete.

Doubt it. Apple is holding the price hight, they don't want to eat into to the ipod Shuffle / Nano market by a free phone without a reasonable cost.

As above the 3GS will drop to 3G current prices but not much more.

    Will everyone please calm down!!!!

You're acting like children fighting over who has the best dad!!!

    GROW UP!!!!!
This is the discussion thread for the following MSE News Story:

"Apple's new iPhone 4 may not be as widely available as the current model, which could stifle future price drops
    ..."

Now if you have something valuable to add on that front, please feel free. Otherwise, please go play, nicely, elsewhere.

    I agree, Oscar.

I've had an iPhone 3g for two years and have loved every minute. Previously, I've had other phones which were just tools. My iPhone is used for work and play and actually improves the quality of my daily life, as silly as it might sound.

I'm dying to get the new iPhone. I don't need to justify my reasons to anyone and I certainly don't understand why anyone would want to call me scornful names for wanting to make a purchase. It's just nuts!

You don't get this on the wedding forum - with brides slagging off each other's dresses just because someone's choice isn't to their taste :D

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simples.

Seems PAYG with a sim-only contract may be the way forward.. especially for us skint ones.*

*Skint enough to want a new iPhone, of course. ;)

Fogdonkey, You said in your previous comment "not because I work for HTC".... Which implied you worked for HTC :P Sorry - I mis-interpreted what you said :):)

I would never say the HTC's are bad devices anyway and I would recommend them to certain users.. :)

On a personal level I really can't frickin wait for June 24th :p

I'm not looking forward to 21st when iOS4 comes out - DD1 and DD2 will undoubtedly do the "Daddy will you update my iPod for me please" eyelid flutter at me.

I updated DD2's to 3.1.whatever and it failed, put the iPod in recovery and took me 2 hours to fix!

Still no sign on the o2 website of their price structure for the iPhone 4 for either contract or PAYG, but for those that want to "be the first to know", fill in their details and click the "buying at launch" spot, you can enter your address to be sent a micro sim in advance.

Yeah, I know. But there's is no way that any phone (and it is only a phone, let face it) is worth more than 500 quid. I can't even justify that to myself.
As you say it's only a phone, well an iPod and a phone in reality, but £500 isn't that much really. leave everybody to buy what they want, what a person decides in reality has nothing to do with anyone else, so what I change my phone every 9 to 12 months, it's my money and my choice, I will spend my money how I want and on what I want and nobody has the right to question my choice.
