oooh cheery you do make me laugh, and all the talk of bedroom antics and people hearing is making me crease up. I've told my OH that when we have kids we need a bigger house because of such things but he doesn't quite seem to understand why!!!

I looooove the hm teapot fay, t'is lovely!:)

omg daffy, no cakes..... that shouldnt be allowed!!

Soup and pottering in the garden, sounds like my idea of heaven for me.

Right with the wonderful inspiration from my mind map yesterday, I have taken lots of pictures of my clothes and am now going to list them on flebay, wish me luck.

cheery you're really made me laugh! maybe your guest will get the hint and move along shortly.

Can't believe there were no cakes on offer.... couldn't have been a fayre that had anything to do with my family as myself, my mum and my sister always seem to be baking for some thing or another. My sis is getting herself a little bit of a business going with her ginormous cup cakes and her cup cake stands full of cakes.

Ooh, cake making business sounds great LT! :j Have you volunteered your services as a tester?? :rotfl:

Missy! Can't believe you got all those ebay items together, well done you! :T

I have achieved a grand total of Pretty Much Nothing today :o (apart from embarrassing the lodger, of course! :rotfl:) Bit of a stroll, craft fair, an hour in the garden, harvested some veg, made pizza, bread and crumble and custard, all from scratch, and read some of my book, but that's it! There's like, a million things on today's list that didn't get done!

Ah well, kind of had a nice rest i suppose! :o But busy busy ths week, so need to crack on. Not going to stay up late, but before I go to bed, I'm going to do a cheery (NOT over-optimistic!) Mind map for tomorrow's activities, and I'm going to do another one for Cheery Things I'd Like To Have a Go At (or Do More Of) :D

I'm off out for a run and will come back via the shops to get milk (can't have pancakes for breakfast without milk! :rotfl:) When I get back I'll get changed, sort out my pesky taste radar stuff (keep putting it off!) and then will be back here for 9pm

I'm in awe of the amount of things you managed to do on Saturday night....I watched the X-Factor:o
Anyway, having a rather :o:o :rotfl: moment this morning :o

Mate-who's-staying went away for the weekend yesterday, we behaved, er, like a couple who've got their own house to themselves for a night after a fortnight of having a friend staying, er, rather enthusiastically :o Sent Mr Daffs down to make tea this morning... and then heard mate coming down from the attic, having come back last night unexpectedly early :o :rotfl: :o :rotfl: Am alternating between laughing uproariously and looking rather shamefaced! :o :rotfl:

:D Did the friend say anything? Is he the type to make cheeky comments?

Aw, thanks you lovely lot :D I know I did a fair bit really, was just feeling guilty because none of it was PhD related!

Getting there today. Had a nice lie in til about half 10  and have been pottering about since then. Wrapped up my Amazon parcels (seemed to take a hugely long amount of time!), and got together a few other bits and pieces that need posting. Then got a letter from NPower, who we're trying to switch away from, saying we need to ring them to discuss making our transfer go smoothly...

Now I KNOW that they will just try to persuade us to stay, but I thought it would be best to ring anyway and tell them exactly why we're leaving. So I rang, and obviously they wouldn't speak to me, because I'm not named on the account, so I passed the phone to Mr Daffs - who rather unhelpfully refused to answer the security questions

    <sigh>

So the woman wouldn't even tell me whether we *actually* needed to speak to them or whether they were just going to try to persuade us to say <yawn>

Mr Daffs now very apologetic, but honest to goodness! :rotfl: THIS is why I've taken over organising the !!!!in bills!

(just spoke to new supplier anyway - which has me down as the contact person - and they said there's no reason at all the old supplier would need to talk to us other than trying to keep us, so all's good there)

    But, *honestly!*

You've got to laugh, haven't you?? :rotfl: Haven't you???? :rotfl:

    :coffee: cuppa anyone?? :coffee:
  • Cuppa ta - you do have to laugh!

Watching ferry - which I know you'll like!

Huge cotton bedcover to go on line, don't often get a day like today here! Figured better get it out on line.

Worked out 'what I have to do at work thing!'

    you do have to laugh!

  • Lol, Daffs! You poor thing. Nothing like a lodger to put a crimp on things. Had the same problem a couple of years back whilst housing foreign language students. The extra cash was nice but the effect on my relationship was not! Now it is just my children I have to contend with - 'Mummy, why are you making that noise?'! There is no answer to that! Luckily they stay with their Dad every other weekend! And there isn't a room in my house that doesn't share a wall or floor/ceiling with one of the kids! There are not many forms of entertainment still available for free so one needs to be able to make the most of them!

What's the cake ban all about? I couldn't have got through the weekend without cake. Have finally got my new oven and have a great big victoria sponge and a blackberry and apple crumble! V jealous that you have rhubarb. I need to do some winter planting but can't afford any seeds at the moment :( That and the chickens seem determined to trash everything I sow! Have just put out some garlic my dad brought over. Half in the ground half in a pot - both covered with chicken wire! Fingers crossed for a yummy garlic crop next spring!
