I am indeed KC, and I will indeed keep going! :T An hour and a half of PhD done already this morning - my it feels good to be able to say that! Just had a quick cuppa with mate-who's-staying (he needs a proper forum name, don't you think?), and now back to it.

Must show you a picture of my little temporary work space in the corner of the bedroom, it looks lovely! Mind you, it's like musical chairs here. Mr Daffs had got up very early and gone to sleep on the sofa, so I started working in the bedroom, but after an hour he came up and went back to bed :rotfl: Could have stayed there, the bedroom is on two levels so the bed is up on a kind of mezannine thing, but the poor thing was so tired, I didn't want to disturb him, so I'm now on the sofa in the living room. Much warmer and sunnier down here anyway, am basking in the warmth coming through the window, and my little solar rainbow maker is whirling round and round, shining rainbows all over the living room :T

Also - I have a good view of my half-wallpapered wall from here, which means it's far more likely to get done later on! :T

Right, back to it I suppose, timer's on...
  • Well done cheery :-) I'm at work so good luck for your phd day x

Yep, my decluttering was exactly that. What do I want to live in? Do I want to pay for the space that this book occupies? Do I want it in my face in my living room? Now that I'm free (freer) how shall I use this time/this space - its freed me up to be social again, to meet the world. I used to have such a thing about noise that I could hear when I was in the house, and tho I still would prefer a detached house, I don't care now about hearing neighbours or noise from the street. If it stopped me sleeping, of course, that would be different - but, I'm not using my house to hide any more, so I don't have any issue with hearing other people. And if *that* isn't a step forward, I don't know what is

What a lovely state of mind to be in - and how hard you've worked to get there - :A - brought a tear to my eye lovely xxx

And mine too Fay! How lovely to be comfortable in your home and not hiding :T

3 hours of PhD done this morning! :T Not sure I feel any further along :rotfl: but good to have all that early morning thinking time to myself. Just popped out and got PVA. Mr Daffs is in vile-ly grumpy mood today, poor thing doesn't sleep very well at the best of times, and mate who's staying snores like an absolute fiend - doesn't bother me, but really disturbing Mr Daffs :( I'm hormonal too, so not in the best of soothing-other-grumpy-people moods :o

Ah well, mate is at work today, and Mr Daffs is popping out soon to a band practice (this is the, er, ukelele-based Hawkwind tribute band :rotfl:), so I'll have a bit of time to myself this afternoon :j Plan is:

    - paint PVA onto wall and stick wallpaper up
    - another hour of PhD
    - pop to shops for milk and fruit, and sheets for curtain linings
    - another hour of PhD (possibly in the cafe :rotfl:)
    - paint wall (possibly, will see what state the glue is in!)
    - little bit of gardening :j
    - sew curtain linings (probably tonight in front of a film or something)

    Not a bad day I don't think! :j <yawn>

Oh! I didn't mean to make anybody cry :o its just that this forum has been so important for me in enabling me to come out into the world again at my own pace, in my own way, and find acceptance and like minded folk, its been wonderful, definitely an important part of the process.

I'm off to make some lunch now (sublime ... banal, we do it all here :j) so I'll close it all down. But thank you all, for all you've done.

Lunch indeed is needed by all of us KC! :rotfl:

Bleurgh here - remembered why I hadn't bothered sorting out this wall sooner :rotfl: Obviously peeling the wallpaper back pulled off a top layer of plaster.. . This house has just been completely botched from start to finish! Bleurgh!

Anyway, have cut off two sections of paper around the windowsill that were blatantly never going to stick back on again, they were all covered with bits of plaster and polystyrene. So now I'm in the process of scraping the wall clean instead, so I can then just paint it. It'll be behind the curtain most of it, so obviously shouldn't look too bad.

But why is nothing ever simple????

Going to pop out for milk now, can't manage without a cuppa much longer! :rotfl:

Oh I've had egg on pan toasted bread - well with the egg in the middle of the bread (with a hole in) fried in a pan. stephen fry said he liked it - so I copied him - its lovely. I need a heart shaped cutter look at that!

Poor you cheery - but if its behind the curtain..................................

KC the teary eye was in a good way - if you try to explain the good long term effects of mse to non-mse'rs they just don't get it.........................................

Fab day Cheery, you are putting me to shame. About all I have managed is to go to the office to have my computer linked to the office network, came home started up work computer and got 206 emails :eek: Have been ploughing my way through them for 3 hours and I have had enough now. Stopped for lunch and catching up on diaries whilst eating a cheese sandwich. Sorry not as inventive as you and Fay. Egg in pan toasted bread sounds luverly.

I would just paint the walls for now. It will make you feel better and the whole thing can be tackled at a later date. Good luck with the buying of liners. You are so productive. Off to read another 100 emails. :(
