Very scary indeed! Didn't mean to scare you - I know you're heading for a similar deadline!!
(not that I've done a whole lot towards it today mind you!)
Have just put on stripey shoes - and they are indeed Most Excellent :j They came from a charity shop, but they're actually new (from Primark, so not posh!) Just summery pumps type things, red, with red and white stripes round the edge and red and white stripey laces :j I'm not sure Mr Daffs likes them (he was ominously silent - and normally has a great deal to say about items of style and 'fashion' - but has learned over the years that if I'm intent on buying something he doesn't like it's best to stay quiet unless I ask for an opinion!)
Anyway, just put them on for cheeriness - although as I'm still sat here in sweaty shorts and t shirt after shredding, I'm not sure it's such a good look! :rotfl:0 -
26th November
That makes it 103 days to me being another year older :eek::eek:

Oooh, forgot to tell you - another cheery reason to love my new job - someone's retiring in a couple of weeks, and we're off on an all expenses paid trip here:
Betty's tea rooms
Tea!!! And look at those cakes!!! :j :j :j :j0 -

Hello you lovely people, may I please, pretty pretty please join you all. I've been here a little while and really enjoy reading the missive's of you day's and would like to in some way contribute. In the last few weeks I've been the busiest of bee's pulling my head out of my bum, although dragging my head out of would probably be a little more apt! Anyhows have decided to come out of lurkdom as my head is now safely back upon my shoulders, allbeit a little weather worn. I'm not very good at being me because quite frankly 'me' probably wouldn't have allowed 'me' to get into the state I find myself in financially. That.......I shall come onto should you take pity on this lonely soul wandering in the wilderness of life............:o0

Hey Ifonly -
not my diary, but hello anyway!! I removed my head from my harris about 2 years ago - come on out, once you get balanced the view is better than denial - its a long journey we're all on - I can't believe how utterly ridiculus I use to be with money - utterly ridiculus
xxx
CHeery more shred - argh - shoes/shorts combo sounds lovely
Can't comment on the cakes - you know me, I'll leave them for those who appreciate them!
You need a read of your magazine
And thanks for reminding me of my deadline, I need it!!!!
I've been good today and talked my supervisors out of my going to a 4 day conference where I have to give a paper. I'd be so sick, worry senseless and I need to focus on writing up now not other things.
*I think they bought it*
Cherisong - I love birthdays!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Oh Cheery I am sorry I didnt mean it like that I meant :eek: because I cant believe how quickly the year is going. I think it is a really good way to motivate yourself to get on. Dont know if this helps but I had a manager once (I think I will write that on my headstone :rotfl::rotfl:) who told me to always underpromise and over achieve! So if you promise to finish by Christmas but secretly plan to finish by 26th November then you will have overachieved! See its like setting your alarm clock half an hour earlier than you really want to get up and then snoozing. Kid yourself that you are gaining half an hour and you feel so much better. Until of course you realise that you have in fact lost half an hour:eek:
Fay, I love birthdays too. As mine is so close to Christmas I never got to celebrate it much as a kid so I make up for it now. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Hi IfOnly! And welcome, lovely to have you here, the more the merrier! :j :j :j Tell us a bit more about yourself! (if you want to, of course, and feel free to be as selective as you like!) Don't be lonely and wandering in the wilderness, pull up a chair round the kitchen table, we'll pour you a cuppa and cut a slice of cake, and you can join in the merriment! :j :j
(I love it that we all sit round our virtual kitchen tables at the same time)
Very wise on the conference Fay, doesn't really sound like what you need right now! Good on you for being assertive!
And I did have a read of my magazine thanks :j Then Mr Daffs came in and started berating everyone in it for being so rich :rotfl: I told him to ignore the prices of teatowels and the 'here's me sitting in my Elizabethan mansion by the aga' bits, and just look at the pretty pictures instead :rotfl:
Just drinking tea (again) and eating reduced crumpets with home made jam. I mean, really, is there anything finer in life??? :T
AND, Mr Daffs has been ferreting in the bin outside the charity shop again :j (I should explain, we have a large charity shop up the road, who have a large bin outside where they put things they can't sell, not rubbish peelings etc! I don't think you're officially meant to rummage in it :rotfl: but they don't appear to mind, and of course it saves them the space in the bin. We do buy plenty from them too!) Anyway, got a couple of easily repairable baskets for our van converting project, a road map of Ireland :rotfl: and assorted other mini things :T
Cherisong - underpromising and overachieving is a good plan! :T My deadline is officially 2nd Feb, so I was thinking I'd overachieve and finish by Christmas... However, if I could be done before that, I would be SOOOOOO excited!
(not going to finish the way I've been behaving today mind you!) :rotfl:
Ooh, and I got accepted for Taste Radar today - completely forgot I ever signed up, it was weeks and weeks ago! So that's apparently £25 a month worth of fruit and veg shopping refunded!! :T We've decided not to reduce the food budget (in case it doesn't work), but rather to put anything we get refunded into a joint holiday fund :j :j :j0 -
I do taste radar too Cheery, it means that my parrot can have pomegranites. I had stopped buying them when they increased from 99p for three to 99p each. Very good it is too. There is a thread on here and the people post when they have been paid. I think we all keep thinking it is too good to be true.
See I am still diverting my attention from important money updates. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
