My sewing machine is really very basic, and I love it, it's a Pfaff (pronounced without the P) and suits me down to the ground :rotfl: just sewed a lining in, so I can wear it tonight without flashing my knickers.... :rotfl:
Not much spent today. £1.15 on milk, 99p on cheese. I'm afraid (and I hate doing this) that I will have to borrow a couple of quid from next week's entertainment budget - completely forgot Mr Daffs has a gig tonight and a lot of our friends will be there, and I'd really like to go... Hopefully I'll get in free (:T) and I plan on drinking nowt but water, so it might even cost me nothing... :j
Other money news...
Got paid for some work I did a few weeks back - only £9.68, but then I only did just over an hour :rotfl: That's gone into the £5 a day fund (which is incidentally also the 'June spends before I get paid' fund).
Picked the van up from the garage today - they haven't fixed the steering yet, but can do it next week, and are working out approximately how much it'll cost to get through MOT so we can decide whether to keep it or not. I don't want to get rid of itSo we'll see...
Also, not really money related, but went to the hospital today, and it's looking like my Graves Disease symptoms are on the way back - pah! Which means at some point I'll probably have to decide between radioactive iodine drink and having my throat slit (otherwise known as thyroidectory :rotfl:). Not a good choice! But I guess, looking on the MSE bright side, it'll probably send my thyroid underactive rather than overactive, and then I'll get free prescriptions for the rest of my life. That's the silver lining then... :rotfl:
Best go and peer nosily over a few fencesand find something to wear with my new skirt, which is white and blue and orange and pink flowers and leaves and stars, and will go with absolutely nothing :rotfl:

Well - it's nice to see you living up to your name Cheery!
I am researching immune disorders for my own sake at the moment as I have lots of elevated inflammation markers - one of my favourite sites is the Dr Weil site (where I have just been to find out what Graves was!)
Your skirt sounds lovely - I asked my neighbour to sew a button on my coatHer eyes lit up when she saw the colour (turquoise) and brought out a huge stash of various shades of turquoise - I've uncovered her obsession, lol!
Sparkly0 -
Yes plain indeed Beanielou! Plain white I think!
Thanks sparkly, will pop over and have an investigate of that site. Turquoise is fab0 -
Hi Cheery
If it's any consolation My Dad had to ' be irradiated' as my Mum told everyone. Despite the fact that it made it sound like something from a sci fi horror movie it did the trick and he is now so much better.0 -
Hope the gig was good, Cheery - and sorry to hear about the definite answer around the Graves disease.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
Hey Cheery - hugs about the Graves - don't know much about it - but thinking of you.
I hope the gig was very MSE and the skirt indeed did hide your knickers!!
Are all these big skirts to hide bits of branches as well - on the way for a walk? Tee heeTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
