Hey KC - I'd try either a fork under the pot and tease off the extra roots you can or if not possible a large kitchen knife (if big and scary roots a bread knife or pruning saw) under the pot - they are pretty robust.
I've never tried to root lavender in water - I'm going to give that a shot!!!
LOL I need to stop jumping in with two wellie feet on other peoples diaries - daffies garden is gorgeous (as seen on her blog!) so I'm going to try and let other folks post garden stuff - ahem - slinks off with sellotaped fingers!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Hey Fay you get back here immediately! Jump into my diary with as many wellies as you like!! I did into yours
I love having several ongoing conversations with pretty much the same people at the same time :rotfl:
Just went for a little run, although I mostly walked. But it was gorgeous out there in the sunshine, and I was proper inspired by all the old blokes tending their allotmentsMust get out in my garden in a bit and take some photos, plant out the rocket, water the tomatoes...
Bath first though, and next stage of bathroom DIY, and putting the carpet on the attic stairs, adn some knitting, then walking over to friend's house :j0 -
Fay, thanks for the tips on getting the little lavender to co-operate.Cheery_Daff wrote: »

:o:o hope the gardening goes well, anyway.

You're having a bath *before* doing DIY? Have you thought this through? I mean, I know its too late but .... mind you, thats an awfully long list you've given yourself..... nice one tho, mostly :rotfl:
Actually, strangely enough, I didn't manage most of the things on that list :rotfl: Had a bath, picked out the pictures to glue to the wall - but didn't get round to gluing them... Didn't put carpet on the attic stairs, decided (after running up and down them a few times) that the gloss paint wasn't *quite* dry enough yetHaven't done any knitting yet (but will do a couple of rows tonight. And it all got a bit late to walk to friend's house, so we went in the (broken) van :rotfl:
Altogether highly unproductive day! Unless you count drinking Pimms and eating cake as productive, and we do, right?? :rotfl:0 -
Of course we do :rotfl: I just love the update of that list, thats the kind of thing that happens to me - I have a great list, and I'm multitasking and doing 3 things at once, and somehow only about 40% get finished :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

(don't have to say, of course!). Sounds very similar to my day
Lots of leaflets and newspaper being gusted about - kept imagining headlines saying 'local environmental group litters park' :rotfl:
And I'm still giggling at the thought of you cycling along the road in jousting and standard bearing position :rotfl: How enterprising! Reminds me of cycling home from the plumbers on a tandem with a 9 foot bit of copper pipe strapped to the top tube :rotfl:
I belong to a local Fawcett Group which is affiliated with the national Fawcett Society which you may have heard of?? (or not....it isn't that famous). Basically a campaigning group on womens issues.
We got involved recently with the 'Boris Keep Your Promise' campaign - (Boris, Mayor of London, made an election pledge to cut PR funding and divert the cash to rape crisis centres instead but took a looooooong time to do this), go on marches, have speakers at our meetings, we wrote lots of letters at the time of the election as well.
We also do more social stuff as well, we're going to the Museum of London in July to see the new sufragette exhibit and then out for some nice lunch afterwards.
We did a survey last year at various events asking them what they wanted the London Assembly to do for them and about 40% mentioned issues around personal safety so we had lots of leaflets from the Suzy Lamplugh trust about personal safety which we gave out. We also gave out balloons to the kids!!
As you can see I have an issue with explaining things briefly......:o
Loving the image of you on a tandem with copper piping though!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
The Fawcett Society! Local branches!

That looks really interesting Makeup - good on you! And as for explaining things briefly - that's something I lack the ability to do too... :rotfl:
Not doing too well today. Seem to be in complete fog of indecision and almost glued to chair not able to do anythingStarted taking tablets again the other day, so hopefully they'll kick in soon and make me feel a little more human...
Moneywise today...
- got 5 people bidding on a cd on ebay, up to £2.70! :rotfl: my first ebay sale, and I'm very excited about it.
- bought some red sparkly shoes for 99p :j not the most comfortable shoes, but they *are* pretty, and I've already had 99p worth of wear out of them I reckon! :rotfl:
- just signed up to take part in someone's research - if it's not already full, and I'm eligible, should get £25 for 2 hours of, er, having some kind of electric current plugged through my head or something (should probably read that bit again...) :rotfl:
- STILL waiting to hear back from stupid garage re prices.. .
- still not finished bathroom DIYing....
- up to £6.55 on onepoll! :j
got to go out in an hour and a half, so going to abandon all idea of getting any PhD done, and instead concentrate on sorting out house, planting rocket outside, watering garden, getting clothes and lunch ready for work tomorrow.
We're going away for the weekend, and I'm SO looking forward to it. Haven't been away for ages! And very MSE too - the first night is at a cottage rented by a friend (free), about 20 miles away, and the second night at a little mini festival (about 20 miles further away, and free tickets! :j) We'll be organised and take most food with us, so should only cost diesel, plus perhaps the occasional ice cream/pint. :money:
If the van survives that long, that is... :T0 -
sORRY ABOUT THE PHD STUFF - MY WRITE UP IS GOING SO SLOW - i'M GOING TO HAVE TO WORK TONIGHT.
wOO HOO TO HOLIDAYSEBAY SALES
AND GETTING OUT IN THE GARDEN - i'VE NOT HAD ANYTHING ON ONE POLL FOR AGES..........

Daffs, that graves disease is really doing you down, isn't it, I hope those tablets make a difference soon. But your weekend sounds completely fab! And enjoy your evening out too.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
