Well done on sorting the breakdown insurance Daffs - I must consider what I'm going to do about ours this year too - it's been with the insurance, but I might have a look for other options......
Sorry to hear that your thyroid issue has raised its head again too, but as you say at least you *know* why you've been feeling rough lately, and you know what the possible solutions are too, even if they are less than ideal.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I think you can do one of those comparison site things for breakdown cover too EH
And I'm actually feeling like a real human again now! :j :j :j Have actually *enjoyed* work today, even though it's been highly frustrating at times :rotfl: has felt like the proper challenge it should be, not like I'm an entirely useless worthless person who can never achieve anything0 -
I hate to think what might happen if I break down. I went for cheapest I could find and have a different number to call depending on what time of day it is
Sorry to hear thyroid playing up although as you say often good to know the cause of ickiness rather than thinking you're going madWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -

What was that I was saying about feeling better??
Friend lent us a large drill a few weeks ago, we haven't even used the damn thing because WE CAN'T FIND IT, and now they want it back  House has *literally* been turned upside down, *literally*, can't see floors in several rooms  and we still can't find it. Had a HUGE fight in the process, and I've spent the best part of an hour sitting in the car crying outside various people's houses trying to find someone who was actually *in* to make me a cup of tea, but nobody was, so I ate the best part of half a packet of biscuits al by myself, came home and sneaked up to bed while Mr Daffs is having a band rehearsal, and to top it all off, you know what's happened???
the kettle's broken!!!
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Good job really, I was starting to get bored of myself, and the bl**dy kettle has tipped me over from despair to outright this-is-bloody-ridiculous hilarity :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Oh deary, deary me Cheery. What on earth is the world coming to? How on earth can you lose a drill (note this is a rhetorical question because I lost the ironing board last week!)? It will be in one of the most obvious places you bet so stop looking and it will turn up. (You didnt leave it in the garden did you and its been half inched?)
As for cuppa, you have a pan. Fill with water, put chamomile tea bag in cup, brew, sip Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............................ nothing is insurmountable! Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. thanks cherisong
I have absolutely no idea how we can lose a drill, it's not like we live in a mansion! :rotfl: It's a bloody enormous drill too, in a large square case about 18 inches square! I have no recollection of bringing it in the house at all (and it's definitely not in the car - I slept in there last week!) We've checked with the people we borrowed it from - we definitely took it. I suspect it's either in the cellar (which is an absolute tip), or the workshop (small bedroom with workbench etc (and no bed) in - also an absolute tip and half the contents are now on our bedroom floor ). I have no idea where else to look. Could well have been swiped, but we haven't used it, so why would we have put it down on the way from the car to the house??? I'm on the verge of coughing up for a new one
See - this is what I get for my house being a cluttered tip (although I am claiming very little responsibility for the cellar and workshop personally!)
Got Mr Daffs on the case with a pan for a cuppa and a hot water bottleFeeling slightly more civilised now!

Oh boy do I know that feeling. glad pan is on. Stop fretting, it will turn up. I am absolutely certain! Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Well, everything (inevitably) seems less of a crisis this morning
Drill hasn't suddenly appeared at the end of the bed, sadly, but there's still time :rotfl:
However, the whole situation has brought home, yet again, how much I don't like the amount of *stuff* that's in our houseNow, a lot of it isn't mine, and I can't do much about that, but there's quite a lot of it that is
I find it quite overwhelming.
So, I'm planning to start all over again with the Flylady babysteps. I have a love/hate relationship with flylady :rotfl: On the one hand, I think it's all far too twee, far too focused on housework (er, of course, that's what it's for...), and I shouldn't have to do it all anyway.
On the other hand, I *know* from experience that it works and makes me feel calmer, I also know that when one person is cheerfully doing things in the house, the other tends to jump on board too, and it makes the whole thing manageable by not letting you do more than 15 minutes at a time
So - day 1 - shine your sink, which I have just done, and washed the dishes in the process :T That sink is going to stay shiny now! :T :T
Yes, we still need to look for the drill, but I am WORKING today, and this is not important enough to disrupt a day at hte office, even if the office is in the attic :T
So I will give over as much of the weekend as needs it to looking for said drill (which is rather large, and obviously hasn't fallen down the back of the sofa), and then if we can't find it by Sunday night, I will offer to buy a new one.
And I will remind myself that my friend is NOT an ogre, will not strike me off his Christmas card list forever, and it is very unlikely that he has a strong emotional attachment to said drill, so a replacement will be more than adequate.
And slowly, slowly, we will get the house into order and turn it into the palace we deserve :T
(step one, first thing in the morning, we will buy a new kettle :rotfl: :rotfl:)0 -

OMG - PANIC STATIONS! :rotfl:
For most people, that's not so serious, but given the name of your diary I can see that I shall have to hide the razor blades until you get a new one (you could, of course, boil some water in a pan until it's sorted).:rotfl:
