Right then!
I've *finally* got round to sorting out the breakdown cover - a month after the letter came and ONE day before it was due for renewal :rotfl: Was worth ringing them up - we had commercial vehicle cover (which we needed last time, but not this time) - now it's car cover so we've saved a whole £11 for the year
So that's £55.95 (instead of the quoted £66.95) for at home, roadside and onward travel, cover for vehicle (not us), and it's with the RAC (through autonet)
I did have a scout around the other day and looked at Quidco etc - the cheapest alternative I could get was £51.30 (including cashback). Much as I hate to say it, in the past when we've had someone other than the RAC, there's been a good deal of palaver when you ring up (wanting to take ALL the details over the phone, for example, date of registration, date of insurance, age of car, policy number etc etc etc - might not seem a big deal, but we tend to break down a fair bitand once getting one of these details wrong resulted in them denying we had a policy at all and us sitting there for 3 hours before they found us )
Anyway, with the RAC, all you have to give is registration number, and they know who you are and what cover you haveSo I'm sticking for now - and £28 a year each is well worth it for that peace of mind.
So - pesky dragon task ticked off! :j :j Have also changed bed - another pesky dragon task I've been putting off for so long you'll all think I'm a complete disgusting scruff:rotfl:
Time to crack on with some work I think! (I have done some already - some more, I mean)

Hurray to telling pesky dragons what for! And yes, saving a bit of money isn't worth the hassle if it costs you your peace of mind, so true.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Good point KC! Sometimes I think about it like that, then I feel guilty
But I think it's you who says about the surveys and things too - I did them when I needed too - now I don't and I can make more of a difference putting my time into my paid work. Sometimes I do feel bad about that too though, pah!
(but on this occasion, I think I can safely say that my sanity is worth more than £4 a year! :rotfl:)0 -
Totally agree on both the sanity issue and the surveys issue. I have stopped doing a few things because I realised that it wasnt actually cost effective in the long run. For example, spending 20 minutes to do a survey that kicks me out before I get points is far less effective than cleaning the windows for example and paying a window cleanerSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons.
