That sounds wonderful! Though the toilet on the back of a bike leaves something to be desired :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Thank you for keeping me entertained for the last three weeks. I've laughed :rotfl:with you, felt your frustration :mad:and admired your determination to get on and get things done and last but by no means least to congratulate you on becoming a Doctor :T. Well deserved.

Awww retiredandskint :o I'm blushing now :o How lovely of you :o That's made my day, that has :D :T :T

Skint but optimistic - definitely hold out for a gypsy caravan! :T I saw a real one up in Settle last weekend, absolutely gorgeous :)

loooooooooong day today <yawn> but I'm home, have had tea and pancakes, been spiritually enlightened (or something) and am now just about ready for bed!

I MUST MUST MUST ring the breakdown ppeople tomorrow - otherwise they'll renew us automatically on Friday, and I don't want them to! Actually, don't tell them but I'd quite like to stay with them :rotfl: Every time we've had someone other than the RAC, it's been nothing but trouble (and we tend to break down a fair bit, so need something simple :rotfl:) Anyway, realised current people have got us down as a commercial vehicle (because that's the only van policy they did) - we've got a car now, so I'm pretty sure they could do cheaper.

Got £23 of expenses paid today, so must remember to add that to the total - will do tomorrow when I can be bothered logging into the bank too :T :T But shhhhhhh, I think that takes me over to 26% of my total :j :j :j
  • Having a right giggle at all this! There's a mad bloke used to be in my street who breeds ferrets..( well it is the north east) and he carried a couple in his coat. They were quite tame but caused a stir if they sauntered off in the local shop... anyway he announced he was going to become a traveller a few years ago. He parked a dilapidated transit van outside his house, and fitted the inside with ferret hutches and a mattress. he got 4 miles and it conked out... then he got a beautiful original gypsy caravan...and saggy backed pony and no one has seen him since. How romantic, but probably whiffy with 20+ ferrets! Oh I hope you can sort some breakdown cover, its nice having that security but not if it costs an ARM and a leg!

    Phew, an eventful day!

    Well, not *that* eventful really.

Had phone call from the docs to say my thyroid is overactive again :( Which does rather explain why I've been feeling so bl**dy rotten and useless and anxious lately - not at all like me! So - glad they've sussed that, and I've now got beta blockers, so that should temporarily sort me out until they get me back to the hospital again - they're usually pretty quick with that. Then I've just got to wait and see what the next course of action - may be tablets again, although at this stage more likely to be either radiation or operation to remove some/all of thyroid.

So, all in all a bit of an emotional day - general upheaval this morning when I thought I was going mad, relief at finding out there's something wrong with me that *doesn't* involve me going mad, and general sigh-i-ness at the thought of all those hospital appointments all over again :o

Anyway, I've washed the dishes, the pancake maker is on, and I'm off out to booze club again to see some old friends and for a healthy dose of normality and sanity :T :T

(and I STILL haven't sorted the breakdown cover!)

Cheery, sorry to hear that you are "unwell" but at least you know the cause of all of your upset and can do something about it. Hopefully it will be tablets and not the other two options.

Absolutely, what cheri said - finding out that there's something "fixable" thats wrong can be a big relief. I'm glad you're off out tonight somewhere nice.
