Congrats on the publishing! A sort-of target I'd like to have myself but feel as if it would never happen!
Sorry about the newting thing, forgot most people would find that term strange :rotfl:. It means surveying for newts, usually by laying out bottle traps before dusk, looking in the pond with a torch at night, then coming back early morning (7am ) to see what was caught. You need a licence to do this and I do not have one but am trying to get one (was with someone who has one of course). All great fun, plus the cows in the field adjacent were very cute and interestedWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -

Right, I've finished for the day :j :j
Just been reading something Firewalker said on MG's thread about procrastination and how to beat it - what she'd been reading suggests 3 things:
1) At the end of each week to do a new to do list called 'weekly goals'.
2) Every nigh to do a new to do list called 'daily goals'.
3) Focus only on the daily list and forget about the rest.
So, it being the end of the week, I've done a weekly list :T Split into 3 sections (because that's how my work pans out - different projects). At the minute two of the sections don't have anything in other than a little on Monday - one is very small and may stay like that, the other I suspect will fill as the week goes on - some other things out of my control need to happen first.
The first one though, there's something we need to get done in the next couple of weeks, and it *did* feel rather overwhelming, but I've broken it down according to days, and now it feels better :T :T
That done, I'm going to pack the whole lot away and not think about it til Monday morning :T :T
So - on the money front... I NEED to renew the car breakdown cover - but I also need to go and sort out tea :rotfl: going to set the timer for 5 mins and investigate breakdown cover :rotfl:0 -
Shall I assume you are testing this one with me then? I have done mine as well. We shall see...

Ooh that is more or less what I do but I still manage to procrastinate. It's one of my best skills
. Seriously though, it helps me loads! Plus I write the lists in pretty colours so it feels even better!

Oh, I'm proper good at lists :rotfl:
For work, I have a book split into 3 sections - I write EVERYTHING that needs doing in there - one thing per line - even small things, and big things, and it gets crossed off when done. That's a kind of ongoing reminder of everything that needs to be done, but has no time frames or anything. I've found that REALLY useful, particularly splitting it between projects.
Each day at work, I make a list for that day, and it depends how I'm feeling as to whether it's a mind map (split by project), or an important/urgent matrix. This week it's been important/urgent, as that focuses me more if I'm feeling a little glum
What's missing, it appears, is a weekly list - so I can see what needs doing relatively soon, but not that day particularly. I'm going to give it a go next week and see how I do.
FW - not testing you dearMore like testing myself :rotfl: But it'll be interesting to see how you get on! :j
Been to shops and have tea to take round to friend's house (we invited ourselves round :rotfl: they offered us tea, but are having chicken curry - we don't eat meat). Anyway, Mr Daffs isn't finished yet, so back to the breakdown cover
(completely an avoidance technique - my mum's coming to stay tomorrow, will be sleeping in the attic, which at the minute is a tip )0 -
enjoy your tea. On breakdown cover I found Swinton to be the best and did it via topcashback - got £18 back and it was already half the price of the others. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
