Good point EH, although given my track record I'll probably just lop the ends off my fringe myself
:rotfl: :rotfl: So we'll see
Exciting to have a free appointment though, very MSE! :T0 -
Fringes are great, very sexy and low maintenance IMO - I just chop it straight once every month or so. No-one spends less time on their hair than me
Ooh, now you are less busy Cheery please could you mention 'celidh band hire' to your other half for me? Cheers :jWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -

Ooh VL, I KNEW someone had asked me about that, I just couldn't remember who!
I will PM you now
Hair is greatAnd do you know, they never shouted at me once?? :rotfl: They were absolutely lovely, place has the most gorgeous wallpaper, but is friendly, down to earth, a little shabby round the edges - just like myself really
I didn't have to talk about my holidays, or read a silly magazine
There was a little playful joshing between the hairdresser and the 'saturday boy' who washed my hair, because he asked the hairdresser to make the tea while he was washing my hair :rotfl: but when he went out she confided that she absolutely loved having him around :rotfl:
All in all, a lovely place, a cheery time, and a fab haircut!£20, no idea whether that's MSE or not :rotfl: but they do a dry cut for £10, which is a bargain, and I'd probably have that next time, but since it hasn't been done for 3 years I thought I'd splash out and have it done properly :rotfl:
Off out tonight, one of Mr Daffs' bands is playing in the pub. So since I enjoyed my sequins and stilettos night out last week, I might do the same again:rotfl: Also acquired some metallic blue nail varnish earlier, so I might even put that on :rotfl: :rotfl:
Gosh I'm enjoying myself at the minuteMust do some internet banking - don't know whether that'll be pleasing or bring me back down to earth with a bump :rotfl:

Sounds fantastic, cheery! And pretty mse - not the absolute lowest (you can get your hair washed and cut here for £11 - tho they only dry it roughly) - and I *love* blue nail polish - alternating blue, purple and crimson on each nail is quite fun:)2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I pay £15 for a wash/cut/blowdry but I recently made her put it up from the £10 she had been charging me for the last 10 years
She has been cutting my hair for over 20 years, since she was a trainee, but it is now a 120 round trip to see her  I do combine it with a visit to my sister's or a weekend of dog sitting to try and save some pennies though:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Happy new haircut! It's lovely to hear about a hairdresser that puts you at ease - I usually find the whole experience quite intimidating (that'll be why I get OH to cut mine
)

I am
(or rather, I am in general, right this second I'm wondering how it could POSSIBLY have taken me OVER TWO HOURS to get an International Student Identity Card!)
you might be wondering why I was applying for a student card (ISIC card)... Well, because I handed in a couple of days over the deadline, they made me get an extension, and they extended it automatically until the end of the month - for which I have to pay £28. Thought I might as well take advantage and get a new student card printed so I can get on the bus for 50p instead of £1.30 for another week :rotfl:
Then my friend said she'd got an ISIC card, you just have to be a registered full time student on the date they issue it, and they run for the whole year and cost £9
So I got my new card printed, went to the travel agents, who said because I was a mature student I'd have to get a form signed by the university. Walked back up to the university (where I'd just come from - a good ten minutes), and went to the Info Desk, who said they'd never seen one before, and couldn't sign it. They sent me to the activities centre, who said I needed to go ot the Info Desk, where I'd just come from. I went to the advice centre, the woman came with me to the Info Centre, who said I'd need to go back to the Activities Centre :rotfl: :rotfl:
At which point the woman from the advice centre (are you keeping track?!) demanded to see the manager, because she always sends people to the Info Centre... So all FIVE staff from the Info Centre went out the back to have a conversation, and a phone call with goodness knows who, while me and the woman from the advice centre waited, and a queue formed...
eventually they decided it wouldn't kill them to put a stamp on the form saying I was a student (which I am - officially - until 28th Feb)
Back to the travel agents (10 mins walk again), who told me I'd need a photo, they didn't do digital ones. So back to the chemist (5 mins walk, in the direction of the university - felt like I was rather going in circles at this point!), where the woman had to literally turn all the lights out and get a little digital camera and stand me in front of a door :rotfl: :rotfl: She took 3, printed them all, decided after talking to someone else that they weren't right, and had to do it all over again.
Eventually got back to the travel agents and got the darn card! :j :j
Anyway, £9 (plus £3.75 for the photos), and that means I can get on the bus for 50p rather than £1.30 until December:j :j :j So that's well worth it I think! :j :j Can also get discounts in lots of other places
However, I did miss a good two hours of work, so really need to crack on now :eek:0
