Cheery! Good lord :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: that really did have me laughing out loud - you've earned the cheap rate bus fare, if you ask me :j

Hope the work goes well for the rest of the day.

Blimey Cheery, is this the same Uni you handed your thesis in to? Or do all Uni's like to give you the runaround :rotfl:

Mt niece uses her Student Card all the time to get discounts, in shops, restaurants, cinema, transport. She always asks as she pays and has been amazed at how often there is discount just for waving your card :D

Same one Maty :rotfl: I'm glad it's the one I'm leaving! :rotfl:

I wouldn't have been quite so persistent if it wasn't for the discount on the bus :D :rotfl: :rotfl: And there's an outside chance I might be able to renew my railcard with it, which would save me an absolute fortune. (somewhere between £12 and £18 every week for another year). I'll have to check the rules and regulations with that one - but the bus discount alone was worth it.

(I must confess to feeling rather guilty about it though, so perhaps I'll commit to sending everything I save to charity!)

    Hey Cheery

I use the ISIC card to renew my railcard every year - in fact it's the only form of ID acceptable for us mature students :)

    Woohoo!

Considering all of the people who don't pay I wouldn't worry about using a student card for a while longer!

That's what I was hoping Lara - that I'd be able to present my ISIC card to renew my railcard... but it feels oh, so very wrong! (but I guess it's their loopholes that allow it!) We'll see whether guilt or thriftiness comes out when the time comes (although bear in mind that without the railcard it's going to cost me £18 a day to get to work...) Hmmm...

Anyway, on a more cheery financial note, I just signed up for another little online course thing for £28. Was umming and ahhing about whether or not it was in the budget... but then I realised I'd be paid £27.69 of expenses from last month that I'd forgotten about, and which had just been absorbed into last month's budget :D So it pretty much paid for itself (I decided I could afford the other 31p :rotfl:) :D

I'm going to try and do that with expenses from now on. I don't have many - they're generally just things like the odd bus ticket, a few taxis, drinks/snacks here and there, nothing like hotel rooms or anything, so if I do manage to just take them out of my weekly spending cash, then when they arrive in the bank transfer them to the savings pot (or the treats pot :D), it's an extra little way of saving without realising :j :j :j We'll see.

Still not sure what to put in the signature :rotfl:
