Carrying round a book and reviewing plans often is the trick lotti! :T :T I, for instance, reviewed my plan today briefly and discovered I'd promised myself only 2x15 minute slots on the internet a day :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :D

Finishing writing now <yawn> Off out for a quick run round the block (NOT in wellies sadly!) then a lovely bath, then Mr Daffs is making risotto for tea :j :j :j

Haha, 30 mins internet browsing a day? That would make me more productive I suppose... But that would mean I'd have to concentrate! (I know that is the point {it just doesn't seem fun...} :rotfl:)

Mmmmm risotto... we had nachos with fajita-spiced chicken, was yum :D

Off to find a notebook methinks, I have a v. nice A6 one (Moleskine, no less!) from Mr Lotti's Mama which hasn't been put to any good use yet... I feel a new system coming on! :T :T

    Hooray lotti! :T :T

Breakfast in bed today - then pancakes when we got up :D Sun's shining, and I took my new wellies for a mini trot round the garden to put the recycling and compost out, and collect all the bits of rubbish (large polystyrene sheets?? Giant polythene bags??) that had blown in while we were on holiday and got stuck under the snow. Looks a little better now :T And wellies happy at having been on some mud :D

PhD today - 2 lots of 2 hours, because I've spent the entire last 2 days staring at it and got hardly anything done> More focused today! :T :T

Also been discussing our Palace Adventure (which I might not have told you about - the process of turning our house into a palace fit for a prince and princess :D) Our house is already a palace, of course :D but this is about finishing things off, plastering the ceiling, opening the front door so I can get into the garden easily etc :j :j :j Sorted out how much money we're allocating (£1100 in the first instance, lots of working out :rotfl:).

First step is getting the front door open :j :j So the plan is to find a stable door, we've got a friend who'll fit it, and pay another friend to make us a little stained glass panel to go in the middle :j :j :j (also need to find somewhere to put the other 3 doors that are stacked in front of the existing, non-opening door :rotfl:) And it'll involve a *slight* reorganisation of the living room so the door will actually open :rotfl:

Divide and conquer is the order of the day - Mr Daffs has FAR more patience than me with ferretting about the internet finding doors and hinges and handles :rotfl: I'm much better at actually ringing people and arranging for them to do things :D So since I'm pretty confined with PhD at the minute, he's going to do all the background work, then as soon as I get paid on the last Friday of Jan (first full time wages, and PhD should also be done by then ) we'll grab a door and get it sorted out! :j :j :j

(is it wrong to be this excited?? It's not the actual *door* I'm excited about, but the prospect of being able to get out into the garden easily! :T)

    PhD first though...

no it's not wrong to be excited. I'm starting to get excited about getting new doors and windows on Wed. Means we can get into the back garden without going out the front and walking all the way around because the sliding patio door makes enough noise to raise the dead even if it doesn't terrify me that it's going to fall out of the hole if we try and open it.

My sister was given some money for Christmas and had decided to use it to do a beginners stained glass workshop - 13 two hour sessions. I'm hoping for lots of sun catchers :D

Don't really have anywhere for a stained glass panel unfortunately :(

Haha glad the wellies are happy!

I have found the notebook, jotted down my new year's resolutions and current challenges i'm setting myself (just the ones in the sig atm, feeling too grotty to attempt any fitness goals right now... which is the next step. Bl**dy lurgy!). Also started a page for today, a to-do list of 4 manageable things, and some waffling about strategies for tackling those things! Woop! :j

And been doing the timer on my phone and managed to crack through a decent bit of one of the assignments :rotfl:

And no, it is not silly to be excited about a new door, especially a lovely stable-style one! I would be so excited about the prospect of a new front door, ours just doesn't fit so the hallway is always FROZEN! And the prospect of an easy-reach garden, or a garden at all frankly...

    *makes unflattering jealous face*

Anyway, only a minute left on the timer till I have to go back to work, so it's bye for now! :A

Ooh, lotti, look at you with your timer! Now's my turn for a jealous face at you having got lots of assignment done :rotfl: :rotfl:

Turning internet off now - if you see me back on here before 2.30 give me a slap please! :D

Hey, take that slap back young lady! I posted at 12.30, and said I wouldn't be back before 2.30 - and I wasn't! I actually did it right for a change, so less of that slapping! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway, had a lovely productive couple of hours :T :T :T In fact, talked myself out of writing a new chapter I'd previously talked myself into writing :T So that's made me feel an awful lot better, and saved a whole lot of time! :j :j :j :j Just conclusions to write now, and I've gone back to examiners' list of 'required revisions' to see what's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY - which turns out to be rather less than the incredibly complicated rewrite I was trying to do (still complicated enough, mind you!)

Also had a cuppa with Mr Daffs, who, as part of our Palace Adventure is trying to remodel our entire kitchen. There's A LOT of stuff in our kitchen - a lot of which now seems to be in the middle of the floor. He's now gone to Netto, with instructions to bring back treats :D

Off to do my good deed for the day by chatting to a friend whose PhD viva is on Thursday. Now, I know mine didn't go too well... but I certainly know what I SHOULD have done to prepare :rotfl: And actually, it was the written thesis that let me down, I was told I made things I whole lot better in the viva rather than worse!

And then a wellie stomp through the fields in the last of the daylight when Mr Daffs gets back :j :j

Then a couple of hours more work, and a nice relaxing evening pottering (if I can walk through the kitchen that is) and preparing for starting full time work tomorrow
