I wholeheartedly agree about staying in a more plush hotel than Travelodge if you're forced to spend real money!! It's partly value for money as well as cheap

Hope you have fun on your adventures today!Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
there is a hotel near Waterloo Station called Tune Hotel which is apparently 5* at 1* prices (in their own words!!!) so it might be worth a look, I think it is on the cheap and cheerful side so might be good value.
The other thing worth doing is signing up to the Travelzoo emails. (www.travelzoo.co.uk) they send out a weekly email with various special offers on travel (all sorts, holidays, flights, hotels, coaches, tickets etc) - I've been on a few things from the email and the deals have always been excellent and they often have some things for London. Not bargain basement often but good value. I got a night's stay at the St Martins Lane hotel (very swanky, celeb style hotel) for £80 which is bargainous for that place.
In fact they had a london deal on the email that came today, I'll check it out and report back!
Sounds like you're having a fab holiday so far - enjoy the bike ride!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction

Thanks you lovely lot! :T Going to save all that up for when I get home

We'd planned a Big Cycling Adventure for today. Well, although I was up mightily early, somehow we collectively didn't get up properly until about 10am (and then when we went to feed the chickens they weren't there   Obviously given up on us and gone foraging for their own breakfast :rotfl: Rounded them up and apologised though
)
Anyway, somehow it got to 2pm and we still hadn't gone cycling :rotfl: Decided we didn't need to do it today - then both all of a sudden wanted to :rotfl:
So we stole Pippi's kids' bikes from the shed :rotfl: and pootled off up the road
And had a lovely old time
Bit cold and stiff now - but it's re-ignited my desire to cycle (on a proper sized bike though!) so I can see more cycling in the new year :j :j :j
Going to go and do some pottering in the kitchen in a minute :T I'm enjoying Pippi's kitchen very much - much as I love mine, it's got hardly any work space cos most of the room is taken up with guitars and musical equipment :rotfl: So it's nice to have a kitchen that is just a *kitchen* :rotfl:
Still thinking about goals - right now cycling and cooking are featuring heavily

Thanks Pickle!
(and what on earth were you doing up at 1am??)
Little trip to town today, and maybe a cuppa in a cafe :j :j :j And maybe a little pootle on the bikes if it doesn't rain later
Then we'd best start trying to find all our posessions which seem to have scattered themselves all around Pippi's house :rotfl:
Happy new year everyone!0 -
glad you're still having a good time, had a shock when i read the chucks had disappeared but i'm glad you found them
enjoy your cuppa and bike ride. Do you think seeing Pippi's kitchen free of guitars etc will mean that yours may end up being free of them so you can enjoy cooking a bit more?0 -
You sound like you're having a lovely relaxing time, absolutely gorgeous - doing what you want, when you want it, its completely Holiday
very pleased for you.
Planning is great - I didn't do much yesterday (was at my sister's) - I've got the categories - home, garden, health, social and travel, money, creativity. And in each of them I've got what you suggested - monthly, quarterly, six monthly and this year; but as well as that I've got a whole decade thing going on. The decade bit has so far emphasized my private challenge with my sister - she wants to retire in July 2016 (she's a teacher) and since she's my *younger* sister, I'd like to retire then too
Not quite sure what might happen after that. Its good tho! 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
