hurray for the holibobs! Hurry back and tell us about all the busyness. 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Look at those penguins! :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Right then. SO the last few days have been a whirlwind of activity :T
I have been to London (didn't visit the queen, but did acquit myself rather well in a meeting :T), been to work, been to our work's Christmas party (with THE most ludicrous 'restaurant' - (we ate in the cafe part, they created a fuss because be brought 29 people instead of 28, in spite of the fact that we HAD to pay for 30), they served our coffee in a different room to the meal, then wouldn't let us sit in either room to drink it and we had to go somewhere else, etc etc etc :rotfl:)
Anyway, did that
Slept on a floor in a sleeping bag, went to work again, went straight to another Christmas party, walked for an hour in the middle of the night to get to ANOTHER Christmas party, then this morning have been to the WI, delivered a couple of presents, posted several, and bought a couple more! :T
(oh, and boss told me I was excellent
)
So I've just been having a sit down and a catch up (of forums, and my breath :rotfl:) before starting on the giant list for the next two days :T
And the phone just rang - a friend is coming to visit this afternoon too ,and we're off to a party in Doncaster at 7pm, so I've got 5 hours...
Wait here for the list... :rotfl:0 -

Goodluck with your list I'm off to finish my section as I've been specifially ordered not to tidy.
Cheery I did order you a very small thing which um, well we've had no post for a week!
*goodluck with list*
Ps one the nicest things about you coming to stay is that I've finally got out a hammer and nails and put up alot of the pictures which have been festooning the corridors/everywhere since we moved in - they are ALL up on walls now - its a bit 'ecclectic' but at least they are off the floor.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Ooh, don't worry about your post pippi, ours has been vile too (not received presents I ordered 2 weeks ago - although a phone bill did just plop through the door today :rotfl: :rotfl:) No need for presents at all of course, you're letting us stay in your house!! That's a FABULOUS present!

(and so excited about meeting you :j :j Finally! :j :j )
:j :j for paintings! :j :j0 -
Sounds like a fabulous time Cheery, I love this time of year and all the socialising.
Went to see a fun Christmas play last night called Get Santa and then went out for a big pancake with my friend afterwards.
This weekend is going to be my cooking weekend - going to try and cook as much as possible to get stuff in the freezer so I feel on top of things and organised.
I also want to go to Lidl to get a goose ready for Xmas but it has really snowed here so really feel like sticking inside and drinking tea!
I also have my Ocado delivery (I had £15 off voucher and so getting all the 'nice' things from them - mincemeat, sausagemeat for stuffing, joint of ham, smoked salmon.) coming tonight and I hope they arrive ok!!
On money front, I've had a phone interview today for the census thing and it was very quick and surprisingly straightforward so just have to wait now to see if they're going to employ me!
I've also applied for a promotion at work, it all came round really quickly, they advertised an acting up post for a manager's job and I wasn't going to apply as they were prioritising some other people but apparently very unlikely any of these will apply and my manager told me to go for it!
I feel a bit torn as on the plus side, it is more money (£8k more per year!!!!) and would be a real challenge (my current job has got a bit dull) on negative side would have to leave my current office where I get on really well with lots of people and it could be really hard work. I've never managed a team before so a lot to learn....and could be stressful.
However I work in public sector so the more skills I get the easier it;ll be to get a new job if I get made redundant :eek: and staying somewhere because it is comfortable isn't such a great idea (well maybe for some people but not for me...)
Cheery, have a fabulous Christmas and Holiday and I'm also jealous that you get to meet Pippi!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction

I might have accidentally told the kids you and I met already - I wasn't going to - but you're arriving early and they will be here before they go to France (before they weren't going to be here when you got here) its not a probelm but thougth I'd best warn you!
Anyway - I just accidentally *forgot* to tell them WE hadn't officiall met in the flesh - only that they hadn't met you yet, we're both doing post grad, I think, they think everyone doing a post grad knows each other :rotfl: and its not exactly a fib - they haven't met you
Can't exactly say 'don't meet strangers from the internet' can I, if you're coming to stay - its different on so many levels that I couldn't begin to explain it.
internet mse doesn't equal stalker:D
non-mse internet -
Make up sounding yummy food wise and go for it with the job application, what's to lose?

Well, I managed to miss the opening hours for the sorting office, so that saved me a job :rotfl: Could have sworn they were open all day on Saturday, but apparently they shut at 2pm. Going to have to go on Monday morning now
