I think you're going to win, Pippi!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
yep, Pippi's won

Actually, i had a cup of tea in bed at 11am, nearly got up then, but decided I'd be more productive if went back to sleep for a bit

Had a proper 'night' sleep now though, so should be whirling round like a whirlwind
Off to take Mr Daffs a cuppa in bed, so the next challenge is to make sure we don't go back to sleep AGAIN :rotfl:
(and yes, we had a good night thanks!)
Then we'd best try to get to the shops before they shut :rotfl:

Bleurgh, bl**dy weather, doing a detailed inventory of the weather forecast on the entire way up - sick to death of trying to make decisions!!!
Looks like we'll be absoluetely fine as far as Stirling/Edinburgh, but it's going to snow there tonight a bit - will the main roads/motorways be clear by tomorrow afternoon?? If we can get past there we should be fine as far as Inverness - we've got friend's house to stay n there.
After that, it's looking a bit ropey, there's snow on Monday night (we're meant to be driving that bit on Tuesday morning...) - but we can have the house for as long as we need it, so could potentially leave on Wednesday instead, roads might be ok by then??
Then when we get to Orkney, Poor old Pippi's snowed in!  Looks like we might be walking from the ferry terminal (about 20 miles, I believe :rotfl:) and all spending Christmas locked in the house together!

Train tickets booked

Glad we finally made decision - helped by severe weather warnings! :rotfl:0 -
Discretion ... valour .... all of that! I'm sure you'll get there (eventually) and I'm absolutely sure you'll have a brilliant time. Even on the journey - you have such an adventurous, happy spirit, you'll shine through it all.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Aw, thanks KC
Feel quite giddy at the prospect now - didn't realise just *how* worried I was about the driving
However - VERY excited about the train
